Hi Ginge,

I'm pretty sure the wires they used to fix my sternum were a man-made fibre and not metal. I think they used to use (and probably still do) Stainless Steel (316L), but these had to be removed after the sternum has fully healed.

My surgeon never mentioned anything to me about being opened up again, and him 'snippng' any wires out. So I guess mine are of the man-made fibre variety. I 'll find out when I go back for my 6 week check up know doubt.

So no, I wont be standing boll*ck naked at the Departures metal detector the next time I head out of Gatwick with the family!! I wouldn't wish that on anyone!! ......Well not til I put a bit of weight back on anyway! ;0)

I've hopefully attached a short video of how they actually wire you back up. Interesting stuff.....but not for the faint hearted (if you pardon the pun!!) ......be warned!!

Now,.........where did I leave my wire cutters!! lol

All the best

Ade

o*g, look how long I've been away, I can't make head nor tail of Blondie's post...Looks like I've got some reading to do!

But first, drum roll...Congrats on passing the 300 day & 10 month milestones 🙂

Finger not quite so much on the pulse these days but turns out you got just as much chance of finding a B&Q in Cornwall as you have of getting a signal!

I don't know how aligned our recoveries have been but I had some real dramas from where you are now to reaching the 3% club...Those days are unrecognisable now & I'm not convinced it's entirely down to drinking water (bleugh)! Keep chucking everything you got @ Mr Gamble Ginge, it doesn't have to be all fancy Ninja stuff sometimes the dregs of a manky coffee will do, he's no match for us!

Ohh the ginger one :)))

All 3 were good lol, but 10 out of 10 my friend for getting the third one correct, a big (((HUG))) is coming your way now :))))

Why because this dippy blonde misses your lovely sense of humour on here :(((.

As much as this addiction is serious and dangerous, a sense of humour is compulsory for us to KMOUs :)))

Thanks for popping by ginge, and making me smile, :))))

Now then lol, KWTW (in all 3 sentences 0)) lol) ISHTONA, (easy one ginge) 0))))

OAU to even more HDs,

Take care and keep SAS

Not sure if you're still lurking (although I suspect not as we would have heard from you by now) but been thinking about my bezzie friends recently & just wanted to say 'hi' in case you drop back in for Christmas & feel like we've deserted you!

Merry Christmas Ginge

What an incredible Christmas prezzie 🙂

No need to drop by, just knowing you are SAS has set me up for the day 🙂 So emosh the NM heard me punching the air in the kitchen & when I ran into tell him, he just smiled! He still doesn't get it but he's grateful that friends like you have given me the support I needed to get to where I am today!

A massive belated welcome to the 3% club Ginge & hope you are having an amazing CHRISTMAS 🙂
