Day 43, home alone, had the racing on in the background while i did some diy around the house, wasn't really interested in it which was a very pleasant surprise. there was my chance and I didn't take it, what pleased me more than ever is the fact I picked 3 winners and couldn't give a s--t, chasing, chasing, chasing, I'm done with it...have a great evening abstainers..... onwards and upwards....Ginger.

Hi gingers

Loved just reading your post, here's to us Abstainers and f**k the gambling institution, we are not playing your game anymore, chasing is just utter madness to us, as Duncs says nice try f**k off.

My Good Friend Ginge !

Great to read your post and notice that you are moving through the gears to steer away from punting forever ! those little tests are actually good for you but be careful not to have to many ! they can grip your mind again, i am talking through experience !

Thanks for your posts fella, always good to see.

Never above you, never below you, always besides you in our fight to extinguish the evil spirits from our bodies and give us our life's back.

Hi abstainers

PRIORITIES something we all ignore when the gambling chasing mist decends.

I say this because at the end of the week mr tax man will be holding his hand out, and at this moment in time the bank account says no.

thankfully I have no other debts or loans outstanding so a loan from my lovely daughter will get me out of the hole I've put myself in. I've promised myself that I won't be in this position when her majesty comes back for more in july.

I have approx half the bill but thankfully no desire to try and win the other half, (something I would normally try and fail)

I feel in control of my destiny since being a member of the forum, no betting for me today. happy gamble free day everyone....onwards and upwards....Ginger

PS....the FUN starts when you STOP.

70 days should be feeling good but to be honest I feel I'm fraying around the edges, tax bill paid yesterday (with a loan from my eldest daughter) while online checked c/c payment due 3 feb it's much more than I expected.

If I was gambling this is water off a ducks back to me, ducking diving, slipping, sliding, bobbing and weaving, robbing Peter to pay paul, we've all been there and find ways and means to get by after a financial wipeout, but the fact I've abstained for 2 plus months makes me feel I'm treading water somewhat and going nowhere fast.

I have to realise I'm in this for the long haul and be patient about debt management, I am proud of the fact that in my seventy days I managed to save some cash towards my tax bill. I'm not as downbeat as this probably seems, just a bit p*s*ed off.

Duncanmacs thurs post put my money probs into perspective for me. thanks Duncs

.....onwards and upwards partners.....Ginger.

Hi ginger,

well done on your continued abstinence, I see you are feeling like you are treading water.

I understand that feeling but the truth is that if you had been gambling for the last 2+ months the present situation would be dramatically worse.

I wish you well, you have done fantastic to abstain for so long and you will reap your rewards.

Best wishes,

john
