Hi Ryan,

I love the way you look to the future, because you know you have a future, a future where dreams do become realities in time,

I know you are not laid back inside but your posts are so calm and reassuring to yourself and others who read them,

They certainly calm me and help me keep going, you have a great realistic attitude to your recovery.

Keep doing what you are doing and your dreams will come true, you are a strong guy.

Hi Ryan

Have to say it's great to read and heartwarming about your future , I think many would trade to be where you are right now , but we all know it doesn't work like that it's down to hard work , commitment and making that right choice ,mand you have my friend couldn't be happier for you

Hi Ryan,

Reading your post about future investments mirrored myself in that quest.
Anything is possible, putting our minds to it and a drop of determination to boot will surely sees us reaching for those dreams and making them reality.

Really proud of you and may peace and happiness stays by your side all the way.

Catch up soon my friend, keep up the good work.

The insomnia has reared its ugly head again, three hours sleep, and boom, I'm wide awake again. This time I know what it is though...anger and frustration at the lack of leadership common sense at work. Last night they dump a new procedure which is going to take a good half an hour each to train my team on how to do, and tell us to do it in our five minute morning slot. On top of that, it goes completely the opposite way to what we had been advised to do up until that point. I despair at the utter incompetence, again, of those who get paid five times my salary in order to spearhead these projects. They always roll out a change, and then end up firefighting the consequences as they hadn't thought it through, and end up putting a fix in place that not only is a lot more work than if they'd actually done their job and prepared beforehand, but they put the fix in place a good week after rolling out the change and watching the shitstorm happen. Anyway, that was healthy. I have vented somewhere it can't actually come back to haunt me, instead of venting at someone who can get me fired.

Gambling thoughts don't even play a major part in my life anymore, although they do still tend to prey on me when I have free time or am spending the day watching sport and I see the adverts. Despite the rant above, life without gambling is significantly better than with the cash flowing out to the bookies every day.

Anyhow, I better get back to bed!

Good night.

Ryan

Hi Ryan.

I know where you are coming from with new changes at work, that are not practical, they think they are saving money, but they are not, they are extending the crack in the wall, so to speak lol, any way pleased you got it off your chest, and even more pleased to read you have no gambling thoughts, job procedures will keep changing in the future but your gambling days are in the past.

Great going Ryan and I hope your insomnia diminishes very soon.

Take care

Suzanne xx

Hi,

I'm glad to say I slept around ten hours last night, and could easily have got in a few more, but had to go take a secret santa present up to one of my team members who is off sick at the moment. The work pendulum has swung in the other direction a little - passed phase 1 of 2 to get on to the management training course. Then I can be the incompetent buffoon who people dislike for making a mess of things!

Have my first of my two Christmas dinners tomorrow, as my sister and brother aren't coming down for Christmas Day itself. At least it'll be good practice for sleeping through the afternoon, but after Christmas its definitely time to get back in training and to shed some of this excess weight. Now I'm off to the lounge to watch a film and make a bad job of wrapping presents....sticky tape everywhere and the white rear of the wrapping paper showing through here and there!

Passed 450 days without gambling earlier this week, work so hectic I didn't even notice. Also answered the phone to a hopeful gambling representative for a company who told me I had some free spins in my account. Hope Christmas is a nice gamble free zone to all my friends on here, and that the whispers stay quiet for all.

Ryan

Cor your management sound like a right bunch of twerps! That is a massive trigger for anger for me too - unrealistic expectations. You probably can't control their nincompoopery, but you can P**s in their tea, or bake them a P**e-cake 😉 heh heh. Strangely satisfying so I'm told!!!

Still on the right track, things are pretty stable at the moment, finances took a tiny dip into the red with Christmas spending, but that credit card will get paid off sooner rather than later. Nothing really to report, no real thoughts of gambling, insomnia a bit too regular though.

Happy Xmas all.

Christmas comes and goes, had a relatively calm and quiet one with my parents, nothing too dramatic, with the most contraversial event being a dog shaped draught excluder which sent my parents' Yorkshire terrier crazy with envy when we started pretending it was a real dog.

Anyhow, its head down towards the New Year, and while 2014 may have had a down time or two along the way, a year that is completely without any collapse into gambling has to be a better one than the year prior to that!

Hope everyone's okay,

Ryan

Hi Ryan... and pleased to hear that in 2014 you did not collapse into gambling. I have had years like that and fully intend to make 2015 a year where I do not collapse into gambling either.

Onwards into the new year. Regards... S.A
