Well this is my first time here!
I'm 22 and very convinced I have a gambling problem, I get paid weekly and find myself losing 50% of it, even more sometimes... I manage to get by and pay the rent and electric, but I find my other bills all being paid late or last minute,
I am around £5,500 in debt as of now and really hope to get this sorted! I was £600 in debt with the rent but payed £30 more a week and literally a month off that being all paid off! First step to being happy and having another £30 a week to spend on myself for once
I will be putting daily updates here along the way! My last date gambling was today! As I suffered a £100 loss chasing my winnings! Either way today is the start of something new! I hope you can all support me and post your progress along with me!
August 19th - I've just found this forum and I found a few people with similar problems as me! I finished work around 2pm and have the night off work! I shall be meeting the OH later and that should stop me from gambling tonight which is good! She makes me happy and she doesn't even know how much she helps as I don't tell her about my addiction...
Keep going mate. I'm only on day 3 but have been gambling for the last 19 years. Try and nip it in the bud now it'll save you a lot of time money and heartache I'm sure.

Thankyou for the reply! I don't have much of a *** on how much money could mean in the grand scheme but to me 5k for me is a lot of debt! Would you see it as manageable? Just worries me although I could make close to 15k in a year... I just need to be strict with it? Any advice! Maybe drawing up incoming and outgoing?
5k is not a massive amount compared to some people. I'm not in a great position to offer advice but would u would say is cut up credit cards, live off a cash card only. You can sort out 5k when it becomes 3 or 4 times that it's crippling. I've wasted 19 years an unfortunately only got worse the more money I've earned. I'm not in a bad position really because my wife knows how bad I am so we contain my level of credit

I'm glad it's manageable somewhat! I think we both need to talk here as we have both just started it seems to beat this horrible addiction! Just cut up 2 credit cards too! Feels amazing! Let's do this man! We can smash this together
Hope your doing good mate. First gamble free weekend for me in a long while, thank God the football season is over that's another trigger to other bets for me
Just stumbled across this topic and can relate soo much to you Aaron, in exactly the same boat av managed to organise all finances and am doing really well, from 20k now floating at around 5k I used spreadsheets to organise all my outgoing and incomings, also cut down mega on gambling now sitting at 44 days GF.
