I don't have a life anymore because gambling has taken everything. I went to GA for years, have been through 2 sessions of counseling and had a course of CBT through the national gambling clinic. Yet I still end up playing slots in places I'm excluded from. I went out to get some new shoes this morning and lost the money instead. I can't carry on like this.
Without trying to sound @rsy Dan I beg to differ " Gambling hasn't taken everything " just like I did for many years youv'e given gambling everything !
Your right saying " You can't carry on like this " none of us can mate because somethings gotta give eventually , unfortunately there's no quick or magic fixes for us and stopping for good comes from putting a lot of hard work in and having a great plan ?.
Maybe just go back to basics for a while again and keep it simple , youve been around long enough to know how this works for us . I've not had a bet in nearly two yrs but it took a great deal of commitment and a good rummage around in my old boxers before I found a pair :)) .
Don't give up on giving up Bud , just have some faith :))
Thanks for your reply, it means a lot. I like that way of looking at it and it's true, I have given gambling everything but now I struggle to live without gambling. I went 18 months without gambling until June last year but when things got though I turned to the slots again. For me not gambling for a few weeks or a month is easy, it's the long term that I struggle with.
Affected by gambling?
