Who am I - Thanks. Daughter much better today but having the day off nursery.
Busy morning at work planned today but not going to stress myself out about it. Important to stay calm, otherwise I might lose my head & make bad decisions.

Didn't post yesterday as I was really ill. Caught my daughters sickness bug so spent the day throwing up. Seem to be past the worst of it now though. The new Premier league football seasons starts today. Usually that would mean a few accas or some big bets if I had the cash. Not today though. I never really had a problem with sports betting, it was always the FOBTs & online casino games that were my downfall. It would follow the pattern of go to the bookies to place a few football bets, and whilst I was there have a go on the roulette machines. Tell myself I was only going to spend say ВЈ20 and end up losing everything I had on me. That would then be followed by a couple of mad dashes to the cash machine, & before I know it I'm down ВЈ300-ВЈ400 pounds. Go home, & log straight into which ever online casino I'm not currently self excluded from and keep depositing until either I win all my money back plus some or I lose everything in my bank account. Sometimes it wouldn't even stop there. I might even get a loan online, & gamble with that. Loans to gamble with have put me in about £13k worth of debt. So though sports betting didn't cause my the issues it put me in a position where I was vulnerable to the lure of the evil FOBT machines. Best to avoid the whole lot, as eventually it would just lead to further disasters.

Day 74
Thought I was past the worst of my sickness bug, but today I feel dreadful again. Think it will be another day in bed trying to keep down the few drinks I can manage. I'm sure I'll be fine in a couple of days so just need to ride it out. At least I don't have any gambling stress to add to the mix.

Who am I - Thank you for your support. We are all feeling much better today.
Still off work but planning on going back tomorrow. Though I've felt terrible the last few days at least I haven't added to my pain by gambling. Life will always have ups & downs, but I can minimise the downs significantly by not gambling. My sickness lasted a few days, but the consequences of me gambling can create long lasting debts as well as other issues.

Day 76
Feeling better so back to work today. Not really looking forward to it but glad I'm feeling well again. Hopefully getting back to the normal routine will help even further.

Feeling a bit down today. Think its a combination of my work trip tomorrow & the fact that my life isn't improving at the pace I would like it to. My debts though manageable & moving in the right direction are going to take sometime to pay off, & are therefore a reminder of the mistakes I have made. I want to move on with my life but it feels like they are holding me back. I know I just need to be patient, but as a gambler patience is a trait I currently don't possess.

Flying to Glasgow this morning with work. Going to be a long day, & don't really want to go but have too really. Just focusing on being home tonight.

Got back from Glasgow OK last night. Long day, so glad it's the weekend tomorrow. Trip wasn't as bad as I'd imagined though. I think with everything in life it is neither as good or as bad as we imagine it to be.

I'd just add that, as we know all too well, gambling just makes things worse whatever the start point.
Ergo, for us, every GF day is always better, therefore we're always slightly ahead each day, on average. A bonus built-in benefit of GF...
You're doing really well recognising that this is Day to day, every day, and I "doff my cap" to you because your determination and inner strength helps motivate me, and I dare say many others who read your diary, to do the same.

Mixer - I'm glad my diary helps you. Everyday without gambling is better than a gambling day, & life is far more stable.
Off to the cricket again today. Going to be a long day, but hopefully an enjoyable one. Only in work 2 days next week so should be a good week or so ahead to look forward to. With that said still concentrating on only today, & the rest will sort itself out.

Feeling tired after my all dayer yesterday. Sofa & super Sunday should sort me out though. Not much money left in the bank account, but enough to last me till pay day on Friday. At least I haven't thrown any money away gambling.
