Evening all have being a little preoccupied this week, my little girl has been a little poorly of late, had her with the doc 5 or 6 times in the last few months so thought it was time to go a little further. had her at a specialist today, she felt nothing serious was up. just going to run a few tests, bith of a weight off for my oh and i.
christ, things like this really put gambling/debt and associated cr** into prespective.
feeling much better this weekend than i did this time last week. no thoughts at all of gambling. i really feel that for some reason the 8th of september 2011 was the day i gave up gambling for good. it has absolutely no place in my life anymore, may have taken me 20 ish years to get there but all that matters to me is that i have finally arrived.
Have a good weekend all, keep strong, remember we only get one run at this life of ours.
You're right, we only get one go at this life.
We have all experienced gambling.
We have all decided that it was the wrong route to take.
As long as we keep making the right choices, we will start our journeys on the right route.
Because we KNOW that a gamble-free life really is the way to be!

Thanks for your post pat,it does feel good not to be in the grip of gambling doesn't it. I hope your daughters tests resolve her problem,as you say it really does put every thing in perspective, life is hard enough at times without the destruction of gambling. Six months is our next goal. Keep strong mate.
158 days.
Had a good weekend, sunday was most enjoyable, went for a cycle yeaterday morning for the first time in ages, went about 25k (further that i had planned but was enjoying the fresh air on a good fresh morning) my a** was in bits after it 🙂
Then my boy had a football match, they got hammered but he scored a cracker of a goal, was so delighted for him. home for a lovely dinner and relaxed for the evening. Life is very good right now i pray it continues this way.
Keep strong everyone.
Specialists are often overcautious, so if s/he says that your daughter is 'probably fine' I would say that's a very positive sign.
As for gambling, who were we? most of the time I don't think about it, when I'm here i think about it positively, just once or twice a day for maybe 5 seconds I get the ghost of a thought... and that's why I'm still posting.
Keep in touch
Are you still putting aside £2 every day? You must be getting rich! If you do not have any money in your wallet on any one day, do you go to the cash machine just to put money in the pot on your desk or do you wait until you have to draw some money out thus paying for a few days at a time? I try to get through as many days as possible without spending any money - partly because I have very little to spend and partly because I try to keep my wallet empty to stop me from being tempted to gamble if I happen to walk past a bookmaker's shop.

160 days and going strong.
Glass is certainly half full at the moment, long may it continue.
I hope all on here are keeping well.
160 days is brilliant. Soon enough, your glass will be three quarters full!

no slips.
Feeling better today.
Well done, am so delighted to see this post.
You owe me a nights sleep 🙂
Keep focused on priority number for the week, once baby arrives you will be too busy for thoughts of gambling.
Well done, must be an amazing feeling...
replied to your email, forgot to say my name will appear as 'John Smith' - check your junk!! Will re-send if too late.
thanks for the message pat the weather wasnt to bad considering the day i left england it had been -8c the night before . we are going to hit six months within a few days of each other so a year between us sounds good .
Without going on too much about the fobts i had a chat with a manager i knew well from a high street shop whose shop had been used as a trial , the first thing he noticed was that a queue started to form outside the shop prior to opening and in his report to management he remembered writing that the machines were very addictive music to their ears no doubt lets hope that the irish government keeps them out , Denis
Well done for eating up the days!
By my calcualtion, you last gambled on sept 9 th 2011, which means you celebrate 6 months' gamble-free life on the 9th March. That's very significant...it's a proper big chunk of your life!
Keep the flag flying.
