Day 99.

Had a strange 2 part dream last night, first part consisted of memories of some big wins I have had in the past, the feeling that I took from this part of the dream was that they never really brought me any happiness. Second part was present time, I had placed a big bet on a horse in a bookies I used to spend way too much time in. I don't know if it won or lost but I do know that I came on to this site and typed in day 1 and the pain and sadness I felt at that was so real to me when I woke, it felt that I had let so many people on here down aswell as myself. Waking was a blessing, I realised not long after getting out of bed that I would not have made it this far without this site and the fantastic people that continue to give such great advice and support so freely. For that I am so thankful. Want to mention milkman who has really being what I can only call a friend over this time, I want to say it is really appreciated.

Good luck to all on here, roll on tomorrow, this is like my Christmas eve, what a great feeling.:-)

Thanks for your kind words. Believe me, I've drawn a lot of support from your diary too.

Anyway, I'm the first to congratulate you on reaching a very attractive three-digit number. Well done!

Life's good, isn't it?

Keep strong. I'm right behind you. 100 is my next target (after 50).

100 days. 🙂 woke withsuch a smile this morning. Thinking back to the 8th september I did not think this was possible.

I realise this is just another step in a very long journey but I now feel I can keep going.

Milkman, thanks again, CL I am rooting for you, your coming up right behind me

Am really looking forward to starting 2012, I have great hope for all of us next year.

Like Getting there I am planning a nice steak dinner as my reward and a bottle of red with my better half tonight. Life is good.

what a great weekend,

saturday marked 100 days gamble free, amazing to think i have wasted so much time and money in the last 20 years, letting gambling suck the life out of me... i am moving on from that part of my life, full steam ahead to happy days.

sunday was my little girls 2nd birthday, i made her a promise in my head as she blew out her candles, her dad will no longer gamber his life away, he will stay in the real world with her.

as i mentioned the real world i better add that the finances are not good at the moment, in fact there cr** but i think most of the spending for xmas is done, just a little bit to finish. i am confident that once Jan comes i can start making steps to tackle the debt, i think current ballpark is about 28K..... christ, its amazing how the value of money changes from gambling to not gambling, thats a very big hole i have to fill in over the next 4 - 5 years or so.

I know i will make it, thats the only cert i am willing to bet on.

Good luck to all on here.

Glad you enjoyed the wkd pat, you've earnt it,your posts are always uplifting and you appreciate what you have got. Keep goin my friend.

If you don't mind me asking you say u have debts of 28k,wot sort of debts are they and have u gota plan? I owe around 20k,which are made up of two long standing loans,I pay a reduced amount to them every month,I'm saving up to offer them a reduced settlement of 7k,I'm hoping they will go for this,I know this will effect my credit rating. I've looked into every option of debt repayment, have you considered your options? I know everybodys situation is different. I'm sorry if you think I'm intrusive.

nice post, Pat.

Once the gambling goggles have lifted, life looks very sweet. I know this might sound daft, conceited or biased even, but sometimes I think that recovering gamblers have a sweeter life than 'normal' people - it's like walking around with a 55lb bag of potatoes on your back for years and then suddenly discovering that, actually, you don't have to do it anymore. I, like you, have some serious money calculations to do in the New Year, but I won't sink in Dec, Jan or even Feb, so I'm able to put it off for a fortnight and just enjoy Xmas with my wonderful family.

Keep us (me) updated.

Cant believe it has being the 19th since i last posted. the days over christmas have just flown by. I was reading posts every day but i guess had nothing major to report.

I'm on day 112 today, so can say i had a very good christmas, i normally take the good out of my christmas by blowing all available funds in the bookies, st stephens day (26th) normally is a big gambling day for me, usual plan is the day in the pub with my friends playing cards, me running in and out of the bookies placing bets until closing time, as the beer would be flowing the bets would be getting bigger and bigger, have won several grand in the day, have more often lost several grand in the day. this year i spent the day at home with my family, and i can tell you it was a much more enjoyable day.

I am feeling very positive and confident about staying gamble free but i am very aware that just 1 bet will put me back to square one so am keeping very vigilant. 2012 is fast approaching and i plan to be still on Getting There 2012 list at the end of the year.

keep strong everyone, we can beat this.
