Giving this a go after several failed attempts to stop gambling.
Not sure how often I'll post in here so let's just play it by ear and see how things go.

Another day done and no betting. Think I'll go back to Gamblers Anonymous on Monday. I went a few months ago but didn't keep it up. I keep feeling tempted so I hope that'll help.
All going well so far. Been working lots though so have been kept occupied. Day off tomorrow so I'll keep myself busy and go to the GA meeting on the evening.
Well done Michael , good your staying positive. I quite like the GA meetings , at least people their understand what we're talking about . Hope things work out for you and you can get your life back on track , no point just giving your money to the bookies .

Went to my local GA meeting last night and I'm pleased I did. Was good talking to people with similar experiences that understand what you're going through. I think it'll be an important part of my recovery.
Just an update. Still gamble free... Ten days now so I'm well happy!
Been running a lot this week, trying to get in shape for a half marathon next month. Also been reading quite a lot to fill my spare time.
Congratulations Michael that first 10 Days can be really rough . Great your replacing gambling with hobbies and keeping fit , takes some doing to run a half marathon . Glad you like the GA meetings , I usually get quite a bit from them .
One day at a time doesn't sound like much but the days soon build up , by christmas you'll be over 100 days away from your last bet and hopefully feeling the benefits .
It's not easy we all know that , but it's achievable and if we're to have any kind of satisfaction from life than we need to stop gambling . We know we can't win because we can't stop .

Had my second GA meeting last night. Went really well and I'm still gamble free.
26 days gamble free... I can't believe it! Just a few more days and it'll be a month!
