So after months of convincing myself I have my gambling under control iv come to realise I was lying to myself. I signed up to gamcare in January after years of gambling every last penny I ever made away, but after recieving £12000 (compensation) which I thought would give me the incentive to quit I found it only meant I had more gamble there fore more to loose. After around 3 months I was down to £5000 and signed up to gam are to try and help me appreciate what I had left before I lost it all, a month later I found myself gambling again and today I lost the last £1000 on the fobt's, well £980 to be precise as I managed to save £20 for some comfort food. I am excluded from all bookies whithin a 5 mile radius all online apps and every casino in the country but if you want to gamble you will find a way! So here I am today is day one of no gambling at all I think in the past 10 years the longest I have lasted is a month but this time not only do I want to do it I need to do. Iv lost all my money I can't loose my family, any tips or advice or words of encouragement would be great and I will post my progress as often as I can, thanks for reading, ant.

Hi Anthony,

Welcome back hindsight is a great thing wish you had stuck around in January but that's done you're back now maybe you had to lose it all you have to accept you just can't gamble anymore, let's face none of us where very good at it

You've been here before so you know all the practical stuff and you have put some on place but like you say the blocks aren't fool proof you can get round them but they do help.

"If you keep doing whatever you're doing,

You'll keep getting what you're getting,
If you don't like what you're getting,
Change what you're doing."
You need to look deeper use the counselling from Gamcare. I attend GA which is a massive help to me wasn't easy plucking up the courage to walk through them doors but have not missed a week. I think the biggest key was telling people I lost some people which was hard to take but I regained a lot more people that I had lost years ago.
Keep coming here reading and posting it helps build up a network of support by interacting it helps.
KTF
