Day 209 - 1 day short of 30 weeks I have just noticed, amazing what a difference 30 weeks makes to your life when you can control the wild addiction. Walked past two of my old regular Billy hilly today, amazed how many people are still in them, not realising how they are wasting every day of their life's. I am so much happier its unreal, and Also able to pay for some luxurys also, no way I could have done this 30 weeks ago!!

I must stay focused!! I may not be on for a week as I am off to work abroad and not sure if I will have anytime to update, but I will try my best to keep you all updated.

Hi Dave, firstly many thanks for your encouraging words and secondly, well done on 30 weeks! My present goal is the 21 days you recommend breaks the habit and then hopefully, not before too long I'll be in treble figures like you.

Hope it's sunny where you're working :))

Day 220 - spent far too much money this weekend, which means I am unable to pay off extra money on my credit cards. This is ok, but I was hoping to have £0 on my barclaycard before xmas, but I think it will remain at around £500, but this is a lot less then £9000 it was 221 days ago ! I predict by the end of January it will be £0, that's my plan anyway. Sleep well guys

I was hoping to pay off a couple of CCs myself. However, I have presents to buy and I thought I should treat myself for being gamble free for a 100 days too. So doubt I will make much of a dent in repayment plan this month. You should give yourself some small reward as you have done great to get to 200+ days. Very well done.

Day 221 - long day at work today, but keeping busy is the best way not to gamble. Just watched the football and there were 3 adverts for casinos in the space of 2 mins, no wonder everyone gambles, it's just easy. Hopefully I will never fall into the trap again

Day - 222 thanks for the post justwanttobenormal it means a lot to get your support!! Massive thing has just happened to me, I have just managed to transfer my MBNA balance to my barclaycard , and now have 0% on the £1500 transferred for a year!!! This has saved me £60 a month in interest, so it's £60 a month more coming off my credit card debt!!! The only problem is my barclaycard balance is over £3k again, but I have about £2k coming Ming in before Christmas for some work on the side I have done, so hopefully this will be only £1000 left to get rid of!! Both combined were £12,000 222 days ago!!! Amazing what can be achieved, and to be allowed to transfer a credit card balance means my credit rating is good again. Sleep well all

Just checked and my credit rating is now 909!!! 222 days ago it was as low as 200, this again is great news and means I maybe able to find better rates for my two outstanding loans!! Watch this space

Day 223 - still really happy with last nights transfer, and I had a great day at work also today, however I get home to a very grumpy wife who had a bad day, so everyone has to know she has had a bad day! I just ignored her!! Stay gamble free all its better life

Think I said it before...Women huh, can't live with us, can't kill us 😉

Does this grumpiness come in cycles like mine...@ least once a day - I'm laughing @ myself, I'm not funny I know but I could actually be your wife :-0 I think some of us got extra rage hormones!

All that balance transferring sounds exhausting (it really takes me right back & reminds me how much I never want to go back) but £60 a month no longer disappearing off, wow, that's awesome 🙂 Don't forget to start looking after your mental health too, all this focus on money can take away the true meaning of recovery & @ some point (very soon it appears) you are going to be debt free again & you cannot afford to make the same daft choices this time around!

P.s: Don't ignore me when I'm grumpy, love me & bring me choclit!
