Thanks guys - I am such a different person now from 1 year and 3 days ago, I have self control , I have a focus and I have less debt. I now only owe approx £20,000 and if I continue as I am doing this will be zero befor e2 years gamble free, this I am certain of. My advice is easy, want to stop gambling for yourself no one else, set barriers and targets, tell all people around you (this is the hardest part, but one of the most important parts) go to counciling (one to one worked for me) have the fan are phone number on your phone, so when you feel c**P phone them, start paying the debt off, this creates as much of a buzz as winning! The reason is that you are winning if you stop gambling. Good luck my friends let's beat this together

Keep it up bud, I'm sure you won't but don't let the credit score make you think a little loan to have a cheeky bet to clear the rest of that debt down. Again Dave I'm sure you won't.

Bloody hell hope I'm not giving you ideas here.

1 year 19 days - don't worry I will not let this happen, I now have too much to lose if I did. I never want to return to the dark place I once was. I now have money in the bank, my debt is half of what it was a year ago and I haven't gone overdrawn for nearly a year. I am not scared by the post arriving anymore, I pay things on-time !! Why would I go back to the stress and lies of gambling?

1 year 21 days - all going smoothly still, and have some more money coming in this month so debts are falling again, I truly believe I can be debt free (apart from mortgage) by the end of 2016. This is my target, I have also stopped smoking now for 7 months!! The only downside being my waistline is growing!! So my next personal challenge will be to shift some weight, by I am not starting this yet, it will be after the 1 st week of June as I am away between now and then so it would be hard to diet as I will be drinking!!

Have a great gambling free weekend all

This is amazing, I'm on day 1 today and feeling very low, but reading this thread has really changed my perspective. You've achieved so much in the past year! I'm currently around £18k in debt and I don't think I'll be able to fix it in just one year but it is achievable. I can't tell you how useful it is to read your story.

Keep focussed, it takes 21 days to break a habit. Once you have reached that milestone you can try to beat your addiction. Stay strong
