Thanks A38 and Delgirl.

A38 I am also into to cricket and have just started nets in preparation for our 1st game of the season!! I love what you typed about looking at it like a batsman, such a great way to see it!!

Day 86 done and half way through 87!!

Been working in London and just back, I still cannot beleive how many bookies there are in London it is obscene!!! Didnt get any urges to go in any, however I stopped in Reading services on the way home for some food, and noticed that they had increased the amount of 500 jackpot machines they had, I also seen that they are now paying out in notes, this got me thinking about all the times I had won 500 pounds and how I had to hide the 500 pounds coins from my wife in my car overnight so she didnt find out what I was doing!!! I then had an urge to play one of them, just because it now pays with notes???? After a mili second I said to myself "dont be a c**k" and then just went back to my car.

Lesson to be learnt today, dont sit near the fruities in a services and start thinking of big wins!!!

I do not need you gambling in my life, I dont like you

Dave - Well done at the services. I have never played fruit machines and dont even understand them but can appreciate the temptation. I'm sat here watching the football now and would normally be transfixed on the in-running markets. Not tonight.

I really need to get into a cricket team this summer and you saying that has made we start to look for one tonight. Then we can follow each others averages throughout the season!!

I will not be taken down by these gambling evils and neither will you. Another day when he is getting a kick in the nuts from me.

Keep up the good work.

Dave - Sounds like you will be having a great weekend and enjoying what life has to offer away from the hell of gambling.

I too have had a busy weekend with little or no opportunity to look at odds, fixtures etc. It will be difficult now the snooker is in the final stages of the tournament. I used to love a bet on the snooker and always seemed to do quite well on it....

I hope the cricket went well and the weather held. I am going to look at teams tonight. Its difficult because im between Derby and Portsmouth all the time but hopefully i can work something out.

All the best.

A

Days 89,90, and 91 rinsed!!

I have had one hell of a busy weekend, but I have got through it without betting. It came close on saturday, I was on a stag do and opposite the pub we were in was a bookies, all the blokes on the stag do put a tenner in each to put a footy bet on and declined, they were all cool about it and no one asked me why not. It was hard to say no as I was drunk, but I managed to stay focused and it makes me feel great!!

keep going guys

I hope you get through the nervous 90s ok. I'm sure you will and I will be back to congratulate you on your 100!!

Well done with refraining from joining the group bet I can imagine how hard that was to do.

How did the cricket go?

Day 92 over

Hi A38

We won the cricket, I did not bat or bowl, so easy day for me!! We drew football 1 - 1 and I set up our goal, and the stag do was hard drinking, but no gambling so all good!!

I have not thought about gambling at all today, and dont plan to tomorrow!! I really want to say I have this non gambling lifestyle sorted now, but I am worried I am being nieve??

So tomorrow is day 93, only 1 week away from May 11 or day 100!! I have now gone 13 weeks without gambling, the payday loan shop must think I am dead, as I have not been in for 13 weeks!! I am waiting for a letter from them to offer me a deal to go back, but I want as I do not need to.

I am waiting to hear about my next bonus from work, this will be a milestone for me hopefully, as this should pay off two of my four credit cards. This will be a massive step forward and I cannot wait to phone the companys to cancel them!! After this I will hve two credit cards and one loan left to fight, this will most prob take me years to get rid off them all, but I know if I do not gamble then it will happen.

I have also started my long awaited diet today, I have let myself go over the lats few years, so I am aiming to lose at leats a stone!! I have to say though I am starving!!!

Great to hear such a positive post from you Dave and thanks for the continued support on my diary.

I have not progressed on my cricket team finding which i really want to do. Well done on the win but i guess it would have been nice to have a bit of a bat at least?! I like to look at 3 balls and then go for a big hit. I guess i am a natural risk taker...

Loved your bit about the payday loans!! I got sucked into them last year and was really struggling with them paying back hundreds of interest every month. Finally got rid of them last month and get bombarded with emails to take out another 600/700/800 loan. They really need to be clamped down on.

Anyway May 11th is no time away but make sure you stay strong and keep your guard up. Maybe a good time to ask the umpire to re-take your guard. Middle & Off?

Day 93 is done

No problems again today, and only 1 week to 100 days!!!!!!!!!!!! This was un thinkable 94 days ago, I am soooooo proud of myself!!!

Like I said in the past once I hit 100 I will then have 150 as my next target, once I hit the 100 days I will have a look and then aim for the date. As it stands May 11th is still my target, and alot could happen in 7 days, but I am positive it will not include gambling!!!

Stay focused all , we can win

Day 94 done but ......

I am working in London and my card got rejected at a cashpoint, and I needed cash to pay for parking. I tried two shops for cashback, but no joy. Then I saw a billy hilly and went in and asked for cashback, no problem 20 pounds. I then just took one look at the Fobt and walked stright out!!! There was only one person playing in there, and he looked so unhappy it just remembered me how Iused to be, and I defo do not want to go back there.

Good night all and stay clean

Dave - thanks for the post once again. You don't know how much it lifts me to think people are looking out for me.

I was just wondering how you were getting on with paying back your debts? I have about £14k worth of credit card and overdraft debt. I'm givinmg my dad £1k every month and he is taking care of my debts.

I was reading your diary back on Day 20 and you were saying about paying your debts to your mum, barclaycard etc. Are you anycloser to being debt free? That would be a great feeling but reckon I'm 2 years away.

Anyway I'm rambling on. Happy day 95 buddy and have a great weekend.

WE CANNOT WIN BECAUSE WE CANNOT STOP
