Hi All,

I need urgent help.

I have just discovered my partner has been gambling with my account. He has spent all of my money and left me with nothing. He done this a couple of times before but nothing as extreme as this he has taken everything.

He set up an account in my name with my details on the site leovegas they let him make 19 transactions in a 2 hour time frame to the value of 2.8k. I was sleeping.

There was no duty of care to stop this should the transactions not have been stopped as this is excessive.

I do understand i may need to report this as fraud to the guards but this is a last resort as he has a problem and i want him to get help without adding legal trouble to him.

Thanks!

Hello Caroline

Welcome to our forum and thanks for posting your message.

It sounds very stressful to find out about the account set up by your partner and the amount of money that’s been lost as a result. I can hear how much you want to support your partner through all of this.

You’ve been left wondering why the transactions weren’t stopped. To find out whether there is anything you can do to follow up on this, and you're living in the UK, there is some advice about how to complain about a gambling business on the Gambling Commission’s website.

If you’d like to talk about the impact all this is having on you and you’re based in the UK, you can chat to someone on our Helpline on 0808 8020 133 or through our live chat. We can offer you a chance to talk about how your partner’s gambling is impacting on you and explore other ways to help yourself and him.

I hope you can continue using our forums to share how you’re doing on here.

All the best

Claire
