Anyone else ever get annoyed by certain things related to gambling.

For example I work for a taxi company taking bookings for people, had a lady complain as £1 came out of her bank account which is an autheticity charge to make sure the account is legitimate when paying by card, she went on to say that santander had phoned her also to make sure everything is ok. The fact that my bank didn't give a c**P when i deposited £5000 into an online Casino makes me feel worse.

In general people complaining they get overcharged 50p or £1 is annoying then again as a compulsive gambler we are more likely to complain about something being more expensive, just another thing that shows gambling makes everthing worse than it is.

Sick of my mindset to be honest and it's all because of gambling.

Hello Aaron

A lot of gamblers do report that they want to penny pinch in every other area of their life but with gambling the numbers don't seem real. It must be frustrating seeing non gamblers complain about small amounts when you are worrying about losing so much more. And I can see it's frustrating when banks pick up on some transactions but not others.

It sounds like you have really had enough of gambling having this effect on your life. Im going to comment again on your other thread where you discuss your recovery in more detail.

Best wishes

Hi AaronJones

Welcome to the forum.

When you learn about this addiction you will realise how it gets us in all sorts of ways and it does make us frustrated because it plays with our delusion and reality. The comedown or cold turkey will make us see reality and we can get annoyed over little things. The reality is that lady is right to concern herself over a pound...a pound is hard earned these days if you get me

Your mindset will be twisted and we all had to come to terms with that

I gambled thousands but would be miffed if I was shortchanged in a shop or dropped a pound. It makes no sense other than the illness that it is.

Do the exercises...would you give me money in the street or be happy if you dropped £10 down a grid. There is a quote that inside every gambler is a miser or someone who is careful with money.

A gambling addiction is dangerous and insidious. You have to fully learn what you are dealing with. It takes over the mind so we are not actually in control...think about that!...we are not in control over ourselves when we start gambling.

Its like any substance adiction when the mind craves it for its own ends. Alcohol smoking and class A are dangerous to health yet people crave it....its the same with gambling.

Your annoyance is your confusion and that has to be faced. the reality im afraid is that we did it and then cant understand why

You will begin to understand and then become serene being gamble free. For now you have to strongly block while your mind heals. Gambling to extinction makes no sense so talk it through with family and non gamblers.

Its a fix we were getting and the money becomes secondary until the come down when there is no food in the cupboards

With help and abstinence you can become gamble free. It can be done and its a wonderful feeling.

Best wishes from everyone on the forum
