Anyone experience these types of things?
I could be playing online slots and be well ahead at one point, but instead of leaving when I win I make excuses to keep playing. For example, if I had £1180 in my bank on a casino I would start by saying, right I will gamble the £180 and walk when I hit the £1000 if I dont win. I never withdraw the £1000 first though and end up playing the £180 then making further excuses to keep playing, thinking I will get the big win soon. See when you look at it in the cold light of day its absolutely baffling as to why I do this, crazy almost. For someone who isn't an addicted gambler its very hard to see the logic behind it.
I just read some articles on the brain of the addict at a site called mentalhelp.net Go there and type in addiction and you will see lots of information. It says that as addicts our frontal cortex becomes damaged and therefore the brain is impaired so it's hard to put on the brakes. They say that the brain can be healed or new pathways formed. Our best bet is to not put ourselves in the seat in front of the machine or computer screen and start to gamble. Stay away and get help. Because if we start it seems that brakes do not exist. Take Care. tara2
