Today I have hit 125 days gamble free.Â
Something that I should be proud of but I should never have got myself into such a financial mess. It is quite scary how after 20 years of placing football bets every weekend with a £5 max bet playing for fun, that it can literally change to an addiction over night and 10 years of compulsive gambling and 250k losses.Â
Maxed out credit cards, loans, lost redundancy pay and remortgages. As it stands i currently have 45k of debt across 3 loans and 5 credit cards paying £1100 a month. The guilt I have that this money should be put towards a normal life like normal people have is extremely hard to comprehend.Â
Please for all you people that have a problem and are at the start of your journey with minimal debt, please please please STOP NOW before it is too late.Â
For me the desire to place another bet has gone, the debt is the devil. Â
Thank you to all the support I continue to receive. Tazman, weirdfish, Pinklady, G100 and many more of you, you know who you are.Â
That's amazing 125days I am 5 days no gambling I am 20k in debtÂ
And your right that is the worst part about itÂ
Well done you............lets all look forward to the next..........g/f
Well done King 👏👏👏. Would you not consider a payment plan with Stepchange. This could significantly cut down your monthly payments to a fraction of what you are currently paying out each month AND with no further interest being added.
Take care and continue furthering yourself from the destruction of gambling 🙏.

Well done king👏👏 very inspirational to myself and anyone starting their journey keep on looking forward to that debt free life
Thats amazing process mate you should be proud off yourself i understand the debt situation fortunately for me i managed to clear it in 9 months it a constant reminder sadly this is the reality and it a slow proccess however saying this the debt will eventually be paid off when i was gambling money had no value sadly the truth is it has value has i learnt nobody lets u off the hook some people say it good thing to be in debt i honestly disagree as each time i looked at my debt payments going out it made me feel miserable and i couldnt wish the debt to be gone as i was getting urgues to gamble and pay my debt off so by u not giving into temptation u should be extra proudÂ
Awesome job mate. Great to see you still going strong. So hard to adapt to a new way of life after so long gambling, but you seem to have it well under control. Keep up the fight. The debt will reduce and things will get better, and then the guilt will pass.
Stay strong 👍Â
First time post having just come up on this site and read many of the posts on the forum which have been very enlightening. Just wanted to offer my congratulations and urge you to keep it up.
Well done King,Â
frustrating I know but just take one day at a time and try to not look back…..easier said than done I know from my own experience.
