Do you think we’ll ever see the day when gambling ads are banned? We were watching gogglebox last night and it’s just gambling ad after gambling ad. You watch football and it’s eveywhere. I know that compulsive gamblers should learn how to cope with these things and in a sense gambling is part of the British culture but I just feel so sick when the ads are literally in your face all the time. I’m not a compulsive gambler, my husband is and is in recovery. He’s approaching his fifth year anniversary of being gamble free and worked so hard to get to this point, I am very proud of him.

Actually, this reminds me of another thing. I’m not sure if it’s co-incidence but he started receiving texts last week about gambling ads / offers of free spins etc. I don’t check his phone, he told me this. Also showed me the text which actually tells you how to circumvent gamstop. He’s blocked them all but it made me sick! Could it be because he could at that point allowed to cancel gamstop that’s why he’s starting to get these texts? So he went on to the gamstop website and enabled 5 years auto renewal (the auto renewal was not available 5 yrs ago). Then he asked a really valid question, why won’t they just let you enable it for life? What’s with the need for renewal?

Anyways, that’s it, just a thought!
