Hi new to here but not new to gambling unfortunately! Not me personally but my husband we’ve been married over 10 years and together over 20 years and gambling has always been there! There’s been times it’s been worse than others and many times I’ve had to bail him out because it’s so bad! this last time was one of the worst and he’s promised he’s getting help and to be fair he has reached out to a councillor but he’s done this before he said this times different and i believed him at first. Hes gave over access to banks etc and doesn’t have access to money as far as I’m aware but I just feel like he is gambling again! I can’t explain it but I can’t just feel it! I can’t believe a word he says ever and I’ve just sat there today and thought is this what I want for the rest of my life!! I love my husband with all my heart and we have a good relationship apart from this but I’m so tired of second guessing what he’s saying wondering if he’s lying and if he’s back betting! I’m fighting a war between my head and my heart and wondering is it finally the time my head wins??

Hi anom so sorry to hear you are going through this but I think the only way to get round this is to sit your husband down for a serious talk and ask him to lay it all down on the table no frills no hiding anything all hidden secrets revealed especially the debt no more lies gambling addicts are very good  liars and manipulative.also.once it's all.out in the open then you can decide if its a step too far for you.if he refuses to admit or tries to shrug it off as an inconvenience by continuing this behaviour it's time to walk away as it shows great disrespect towards you.if your husband does lay it all on the line then their is something to work with by getting help through counselling blocking online sites through gamban setting up a ban for bricks and mortar gambling establishments through the moses scheme in the UK blocking bankcards from gambling deposits taking away all his bank cards so he doesn't have access to money and full access to his bank statements  it may seem a bit harsh or extreme but it's the only way willpower alone will never break the cycle .it only puts a plaster on the wound .sorry if this sounds extreme but it's proven to work action speaks louder than words bless you
