Hi

I have decided to try this i feel like I am trapped in this body its soul destroying, gambling takes away your soul a bit at time. I am professional person and have been gambling for nearly 30 years mainly horses online used to be high street bookmakers back in the day but no more as they wouldnt take my level of stake. I believe I have gambled a million pounds honestly. I am single parent and solely look after my daughter who is about to turn 14 soon. I wouldnt be able to forgive myself if my daughter followed in my destructive steps, gambling has been my best friend for many years actually it is the most destructive addiction you can have I am certain of that.

I am going to try and beat this one day at a time.

Hello Ascotboy

Welcome to the forum.

Self-exclusion, blocking software or handing over finances are all good barriers to put in place to allow you time to take stock of your situation without causing anymore financial hardship.

From there different things work for different people. Counselling, phoning GamCare, CBT, GA, self-help books and religion are just a few options.

If you can understand why you gamble and identify the triggers it will make things a bit easier.

Read the forum to see how different people deal with their gambling addiction.

Give it a good go. The forum helps a lot of people - you can be one of them.

Best wishes

Glint
