Well today is 40 days gamble free.Â
Not a massive achievement in terms of 10 years of constant gambling with 250k losses. However this is my time to finally stop this addiction for a better future. Somehow I have still kept a roof above my head, I’ve got one last shot of beating this and I cannot be beaten.Â
It is the weekends where I struggle the most with football fixtures, gambling was a part of my everyday life for 10 years, the norm of waking up grabbing my phone and checking the matches, to then pick out a team to place a ridiculous amount of money on, hopefully 40 days gamble free is a little chip away at starting to curve that norm for me.Â
Payday today and another month of debts paid off, less than 3 years for becoming debt free, and to put this addiction all behind me for a better life. Â

Well done King 👏👏👏. Keep going. Remember, try to not obsess too much on being debt free in 3 years time. That in itself is not a long time and you are fortunate enough to be able to repay all this in 3 years 👌. I have been paying my debt off with Stepchange for 10 years so far and still have around 30k of debt to pay! The good thing for me is that as I have been with them for so long, I often get settlement letters from the various companies I owe, to settle at a reduce cost, some of which offer to write off 60% if I can pay the rest. I have done this with a couple so far and as the years go by and I remain g.f, hopefully I can do more of the same 🙏.
This might not be suitable for all I am aware, for example, if anyone is needing a mortgage or remortgage. Luckily for me, I have no mortgage repayments and have around 100k spare equity in my apartment so I will just continue paying Stepchange what I owe on an affordable monthly payment and one which allows me to have enough money to pay all my bills, buy food and treat myself as and when I wish 👍.

I am approaching my one year g.f mark in a week’s time and I can’t reiterate enough, how much better my life has been, both emotionally and financially 👌.
It may be good to read other people’s diaries/write a comment in theirs perhaps? I myself, find it so motivating reading others and reading nice things that others have wrote in mine too!😊.
Pay day was always a huge trigger for me so well done on getting all those bills sorted as soon as you were paid 👏👏👏👌.
