Hi everyone - not really sure what to gain from this but I suppose it’s generally good to put your thoughts to paper - or phone.

im gambling all of my excess money and I think the main reason for this is boredom. I keep setting myself back to square one and I just need to have it in myself to say enough is enough…

You can gain everything from this.  There is nothing to lose.

What can you replace the gambling with?

With the money that you won't be losing gambling you can start something much more proactive to do with your time.

Have you taken steps to block your gambling?

Hey, I am 6 months into my recovery after over 10 years of gambling pretty much everyday. Making this decision to stop will be the best decision you make. I reached out to get counselling and did it weekly over the phone. My life has changed so much since I have stopped. My outlook and ability to think with clarity has had a profound effect on my overall well-being. For over a decade I have been on auto pilot losing all my money month after month. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Just know you are not alone. It can feel so isolating but gambling harm can happen to anyone from any walk of life. I feel proud of what I have accomplished since stopping. I hope you can reach this stage one day. Best of luck on this journey

Hi

Yes boredom was a big emotional trigger for me.

Yes fears not faced was an emotional trigger for me.

Yes frustrations not resolved was an emotional trigger for me.

Yes loneliness was an emotional trigger for me.

Procrastination was an emotional trigger for me led to boredom.

Clean time can not be lost.

Nothing healthy in beating your self up all the time.

Having any clean time is not going back to day one.

We get wiser and learn  how to cope in healthy ways.

Your last bet was enough…

If you want it to be.
