Hi new to this , had another horrendous day gambling,  totally lost control now im in financial bother , I was fine this morning and let my guard down , I'm now on Gamstop and hopefully this bad day will, be a distant main a few months time . I'm so determined though, was almost a relief when I ran out of money in the bookies earlier. Getting set for a horrible nights sleep and the feeling of disgust in the morning . Day 1 tomorrow

Hi. As well as gamstop which is awesome for online you will need to self exclude from the bookies, otherwise in the coming days when you are tested you will hotfoot it back to the bookies. As many avenues you block, doors you close the better. These things are not a cure but gives you vital time away from gambling to chose better and to allow your mind time to heal , and to get help to change GA or counselling are both good GA meetings particularly. Give Gamcare advisors a call they will give you non judgemental advice especially if you have debt to try and sort. Good luck with your recovery

@simonsmyork19

Did you want to limit your losses or stop gambling?

How did your day 1,2 and 3 go?

Chris.

Hi Chris,  the days were hard, kept having this horrible sickly feeling and constantly  thinking about the money lost and how stupid I've been. I haven't gambled though, thanks for asking

Hi, I know exactly what you’re going through. Your story has repeated itself over and over again for me. And the it happened again, so the last days that’s all that’s been on my mind.

As you do, I also have that terrible sticky feeling of the lost money. Tho it’s the worst feeling ever, it’s happened so many times for me now, that each time it’s getting easier to cope with, cos I’m not surprised or chocked that I happened again, I actually expected it so now it’s just like “oh so it was today it happened”

despite the expectation that I’d lose it all, it’s still an unbearable feeling, which just sticks to your head.

But now it’s enough, it has happened for the last time now! Never again!

Tho it’s not easy, try to accept the fact the money are gone, and don’t let it happen again, cos if this was what it took to never let it happen again, those 2000 were well spent.

I always try to say, let’s start from scratch, and now I struggle until next pay, but from there I’ll try to build up my financials again. It’ll take time to get back, but I have a plan, and I’ll get there!

Never again!

Hi Thordsen yes I can understand im not alone in feeling like this,  that feeling of if only I could turn back the clock a few days, would love to feel the way I did before I lost the money . But I can't so I've been convincing myself that this horrible feeling I have now is the last time ill ever have it . Every day it gets a little better so I need to just get on with it and turn the gamble free days into weeks , months etc . I havent gambled since so hopefully im on the right path . I hope you stay strong this time and we both will have a better future .

Good to hear it’s getting better. And keep up the good work not gambling. But the feeling of losing money, is the worst and it’s so hard to accept. But it will get better and you will make you a better life now.

Just remember this feeling, and what it does to you. In a week or two, this feeling has passed, and then you have to stay strong. I’ve tried too many times that after some time the feeling passed and then done the same mistake again, cos then life seems fine again.

Hopefully we can help each other in this, out stories a quite alike
