My husband beys for a living 7 days a week 52 weeks a year, he’s now switched from matched betting - arbing to betfare swing trading.

I spend all my time alone outside work - if I rarely go out with my friend for a drink he’s texting me to come home to cook  his dinner ! Of o don’t he gets annoyed and I’ve PTSD from my childhood of a dad wife beater.

I work, I do all

cooking every night

cleaning

washing

food shopping

decorating

gardening

diy

I pay towards bills.

ive broken my toe at work so im off and spend all day alone outside- he every day

breakfast walk bets walk bets  1-2 days a week goes to pub with his mate

of if I try communicate this isn’t good for him or us he says this is why he doesn’t spend time with me as I always say about it’s lonely & he should do more in the hosie ad as a couple.

He said he knows his priorities are Betting Drinking Watching sport, he said we can do things together socially as long as he can drink beer.

when I say I’m selling the house buying separately he changes is nicer for a few days then back we are to addiction man.

I know he won’t change I have to leave the marriage it’s 13.5!years together and 12 of those he’s gambled and gambled £8500 of my money he was meant to transfer to me 18 months ago.

Ibe fibromyalgia and chronic ibs it’s all really taken a toll on my mental health.

Hello willow50,

Thank you for sharing this – it takes courage to come here and talk about what you’re going through. It all sounds really hard.

I imagine it might feel really overwhelming and exhausting to be doing so many tasks around the house whilst working and trying to navigate through your relationship and health issues.

You’ve mentioned the toll this is all taking on your mental health and that you’re living with PTSD. If you haven’t already, you could ask your GP for some support and you can also look for some help through the Mind website here. If you ever felt unsafe in your home, you can contact Women’s Aid.

It may feel very isolating for you right now but you’re not on your own. We’d like to support you and offer you a chance to talk about everything and explore ways of looking after your wellbeing. Please get in touch with our Helpline any time on 0808 8020 133.

I hope you can keep posting on here – you will find this a supportive community.

All the best,

Claire
