Hello all I could write 100 paragraphs here about myself but that would bore you so, hello! I’m a problem gambler since I was 13 but don’t think a small one... I’ve been losing close to 80k per year since 2015. I’m 18 now. Gambling was a way of coping that I don’t have relationships and was depressed for many years. Me being a fully believer to Islam I know it’s haram. And If i win i won’t spend the money but what’s ny problem? I’ve been hating myself since highschool. Everyone had gfs and stuff, all I did was sit on a computer and bet on live casino to my last penny. Since 6 months ive been trying to quit on and off. Especially i got suprisingly alive from a fatal car accident 2 months ago; i didn’t gamble since 2 days ago... In 2 days all my savings of 10k is gone. I’m going on a downhill and im really depressed. Please help me! God bless you all who is willing to help. Thank you I hope you will suceed to quit too... 🙁

Hi Istanbul,

I too have just set up an account on here to get support to stop gambling. I have noticed that my gambling gets worse when I am having a bad day, feeling depressed or anxious. I have found that it helps temporarily but that feeling is only worsened when I realise what I have done and how much I have lost. Have you thought about going to a doctor for help with your depression? Talking to a therapist?

I am sure that taking the steps, like you are doing by joining this site, to get help will ultimately help you when it comes to developing new relationships, as when you are gamble free, you will have more time to invest in such things. The people on these forums are amazing and so inspirational. I wish you the best of luck!

Did you say you've been loosing 80 thousand a year since you were 15 and you are now 18 and problem gambled since you were 13? Glad you are here. just can't imagine having that much cash in mid teens. You certainly can turn this around. Maybe some counseling? that would be a good start to help get a fresh start and so many years ahead of yourself. Were you gambling on line? Guess it's hard to tell how old someone is but I'll tell you, us older folks also have no restraint or sense when it comes to 'addiciton' because addiciton is addiciton no matter what the age. Help is here. tara2
