Hi Aaron , Just read your post of 16 months ago and to be honest , this one pretty much mirrors that one ! . I think you do have to stop Buddy, but you have to want to stop and find the willpower to stop !.Your the only one that can change what happens this month , from what has happened for the last 16 months . Maybe it's time to tell your family the whole story ?. Sometimes by doing this , it lifts a weight from you, that then allows you to move on with your life !. Also if your serious about giving up then you need to put things in place that make gambling as difficult as possible . You don't say what your betting on but if its on line ? You need to install blocking software , or if its the bookies exclude yourself from all the usual haunts . All the info is available on the gamcare site or you could talk to an advisor as well !. Its got a lot worse for you over the last 16 months So just imagine how bad its going to get if you dont stop ?. Small steps and willpower my friend , thats what takes us forward to a better life !!. Best wishes for now Alan who will not gamble today !

Morning there Aaron, Good to see you are back on here again, we have all been through these dark moments. My only advice is to seek some professional help. There are a number of charities who offer 1-2-1 councilling and group work also. It had helped me to no end. Stay strong.

Hi Aaron I must say you sound very similar to how I did 7 years ago (when I was 23). All I can say is I wish I could turn back the clock and give it up then! You're still a very young man so now is the time to put the gambling away for good and enjoy your life. It will be hard initially having to pay back whatever debts you have (this is my biggest fear about not gambling) but it will be worth it in the long run. I'm starting some one to one counselling soon, I'll let you know if it's worthwhile
