Now i know why it happened this time i had a stressful event. I crawled the many sites to see eventually 3 that let me login and that had the one slot that has me hooked. Imagine one slot . Also im not being a victim as i know itw totally my fault but ive asked my bank to not allow any gambling transactions but they don't have that function. This would actually put a halt to my playing  .anyways time to reset another clock.

Hello P2021

Thanks for sharing this.

Well done for recognising what led up to you gambling again. A lot of people find their gambling gets more harmful when they’re going through a painful or stressful experience. Gambling can provide a feeling of temporary relief and a chance to escape for a bit but in the long run, it can make things even more difficult. Perhaps you could reflect on any other methods / activities that you find help you maintain your wellbeing?

I can hear you’re trying to find ways of helping yourself to keep your progress going through blocks. If you wanted to check that you’ve got everything in place that you can, you could have a read of our factsheet Taking control of your gambling spend.

If you’d like to chat to us about this, you can call our Helpline on 0808 8020 133 or use the live chat service (both available 24 hours a day). You can find out more details about these here:  https://www.gamcare.org.uk/get-support/talk-to-us-now/ .

I hope you can continue sharing your experiences on here.

All the best

Claire

Just wanted to jump on the forum as a way to vent and hopefully seek advice. I have struggled with gambling since the age of 21. I'm now 35. My first gambling experience was my mum inviting me to the local large bingo chain. That night i won some money. Let's just say i caught the bug there and then. I was then pregnant and gambled as a social  activity. Once my daughter was born I signed up to online bingo. This was where things escalated. Paper books were swapped for virtual tickets and online slots. I then found online roulette.

Gambling a few hundred pounds initially, which then turned to much larger bets. Sometimes staking more than £1000 per spin.

I have lied to family, taken pay day loans out and gambled all my student finance whilst studying dentistry.

I initiated a 5 year gamstop which recently ran out and I was straight back to it with a vengeance. I was still gambling in bookies and service stations etc plowing in 100's to chase a max win. I'd just say to myself if I can get the money back I won't do it again. Who was I kidding..

Anyways I've now initiated another 5 year ban, signed up to moses and banned from admiral, etc. I just hope and pray that I can stay strong now.and not seek to find a way around the self exclusion etc.

Such a horrible disease. Take care much love ❤️ 🫶
