Hello Paul1951

Wishing you a warm welcome to the forum. Well done for all you've done so far in attempting to stop gambling. It sounds like it's been really difficult for you, but I can see you're not giving up and you don't want this cycle to continue. The strategies you've used so far don't seem to have been enough to enable you to stop gambling long term.

Now that you've accessed support here, you should receive some useful advice from others who can relate to what you've said. You mentioned self-exclusion, but I'm wondering if you've tried blocking software yet? You could also consider swapping your credit/debit card for a cash card, which cannot be used online. As well as persevering with some of these practical strategies, perhaps you would find it useful to access some specialist support. We offer free counselling, which is conducted both face-to-face and online. If you would like to be referred for counselling please contact the helpline or netline (contact details available at the top of every page of our website). Both lines are open daily 8am - midnight. Either way you are very welcome to call us to talk through what's going on. Support really can make a big difference.

Best wishes

Laura
