Hi all, I feel better about myself already writing this in this forum, anyway....

I'm 25, I have a well paid job, partner and a son.

It all started when I was on minimum wage betting on football and got carried away with promotions and putting (at the time) big bets that I couldn't afford to the point where I got myself into debt by chasing losses where I had to open up to family and borrow money off family to pay off debts. I got myself clean and paid all the money back that I borrowed.

For a couple of years after I have bet here and there with big and small amounts and it weren't till 2 years ago where I got my well paid job and my house that I started getting back into betting, and it all started with a inplay offer which I won alot with,  it got so bad that I had to add on to the loan to cover my losses, then it carried on a few months after that! I borrowed more on the mortgage to pay off some house work and found myself with some money left which I told my self I would use to pay off some of the holiday, and for some reason I threw it all at betting, and just as I was getting clean again I go and throw away another chunk of money last night thats going to take 3 or 4 months to gather back, and I'm meant to be going on holiday in april. Problem is the money I've lost I can get back within a few months but I can't help but hate the loan that I have and every so often I try and bet it away and end up getting myself into a bigger mess. I'm trying to stop myself again before it starts affecting my monthly out goings and my family. My partner knows about my problem but I keep telling her I'm stopping but I never do. Anyway I'm hoping this forum and live chat will help me focus my mind away from betting and I can pay off my debts with time and my own money rather than hoping for a big bet to come in! I will get better and this will be the start!!!!

Good luck to you mate your a bit younger than me but sound in a similar position sport betting is my poison. Take it from me the longer you leave it carry on the more debt you will get into, I have a well paid job, but no job is enough when I’m betting because it’s all relative it needs to be risky for “the buzz” I can’t enjoy £10 bets for that very reason. There is a retired mega boxer who keeps coming out of retirement and is rumoured to have major gambling issues, Imagine what size bets he has to put on to get his buzz, there is never a big enough wage.

Im 38 have a wife, child and second on the way I can clear my debt in 9 months if I don’t bet this is the first step and really I need to never bet again otherwise I will never have any money to spend on them, that has to stop I bet you feel the same.

I am very early into this 27 days but am committed to getting there this time I need to stop, hopefully you feel the same an if you do so at your age you will have many years left to earn and provide for those you love.

All the best LR199
