Hello, I'm Mike, partner of someone struggling with gambling. It's a long time thing but we only spoke about it last week, she said she wanted help and I felt proud of her for at long last admitting her problem (I've know for ten years) however other than telling me and moving her debt over to me she has done nothing, not spoken to anyone not, given me control of her bank or swapped her phone. All things she said she'd do. My question is this, how the hell do I bring the subject up again? Do I just go and get her a phone (without internet) and ask for hers? Help please, I don't know where her head is at and what she wants from me, other than the pennies I have left.Â

Yes, confront her again and have it out?! She has to want to make changes and prove to you she can put things in place to prevent the gambling. Otherwise you need to look out for yourself and yourself only.Â
I’m a compulsive gambler, I came clean to my husband 18 months ago but I wasn’t completely honest, we didn’t put things in place and I relapsed over and over again and the debt doubled.Â
3 months ago I had to tell him again, but everything, I was completely honest and the relief not to have to lie anymore was immense! I removed myself from the joint account, he took control of the finances and he can look at my phone whenever he wants to! I’m now 95 days gamble free!Â
