So after losing heavily on Friday on online roulette. I have just been credited with 635.00. I tried to withdraw it all immediately back to my bank account, but of course this was forbidden so I had no option but to play. Anyway, I had a few wins and loses and it went down to 407.50 at which point I managed to withdraw the 400.00 as I must have played through enough. I then put the 7.50 on zero for the Hell of it without success.

The reason I am proud of myself though, is that yesterday I would have continued playing that 407.50 until it was gone. But not today, today I found the strength to withdraw it, and that is thanks to these forums.

Reading other peoples stories on here has given me a drive and the will to quit gambling.

I only ever played on one site and I have excluded myself from it now.

I am already starting to feel better about myself and am going to pour all my energies into work and saving and becoming the decent hardworking person I used to be.

Best wishes to everyone on here...I wish for happiness and peace for all of you.

Hello there,

Well done for taking the decision to stop gambling on your own. If you find that you are struggling at any point you can contact GamCare and speak to an advisor.

Also, since you posted twice in this section I would suggest that you use the 'Recovery diaries to mark your progress and build up your confidence.

Best wishes,

well done and congratulations, remember how you feel now, and how you feel when you see a 0 balance when you had the opportunity to walk away, if we all felt the same as we did after a big loss, we would never become addicts as the first loss we endure would be our last, sometimes time is a great healer, other times it is our demise as we forget that painful feeling and start to feel better and thats when another deposit comes along. I wish you all the best in your journey.
