Good evening everyone,

I hope everyone is doing well.

It’s been a tough week weirdly, 106 gamble free days and for the past week I’ve had a bit of anxiety and not sleeping well, it’s just taken me back to the old days of losing thousands and feeling sick with anxiety.

The pain of being in such debt from this addiction has hit me hard this week, I feel as though I had more money when gambling, then I do now when I’ve stopped and it’s hard to stay dedicated and disciplined. I will of course not gamble that is for certain. But just needed to talk about it on here to release.

Take care everyone. Thanks to Weirdfish, Tazman, G100 and Pink Lady and everyone else that kindly keeps me positive and motivated.

Hi King. It is normal to feel like this so try not be too hard on yourself. I have felt similar the last couple of days myself, as I have just returned to full time work, after going down to 3 days 4 years ago, aged nearly 62!! I got home this evening to emails of my water and energy bills going up from October 😡. The idea was to return to full time, to have more money for me, not for these companies who are raking it in and reaping the rewards with their huge bonuses 👎.

I just have to keep telling myself to just “go with” each day and not to think too much about the future. Hope you can do the same too. 💪🙏.

Take care.

Pink Lady 🩷🍎.

Hi King,

I feel exactly the same, no spare money to live life to the fullest whereas when betting I seemed to always have money. The reality was though that I had cash from winnings but my debt was wracking up in the background with constant money transfers and loans.

Keep being strong mate. Don’t get sucked back in and remember the sleepless nights worrying about what you was doing to yourself with no control or ability to stop.

106 days of success and every day will get easier I’m sure. Remember the goal of being debt free and returning to being a sensible person.

As always, good luck to anyone struggling with this terrible addiction. We can all beat this together I’m sure.

G

I totally get this mate. Today I felt nervous about going to see my family. I used to always splash the cash like some successful businessman whenever I came home. My family know I’m in debt to my eyeballs now and I was scared about the journey. I realise now I used to splash the cash because I would always be finding a loan somewhere, or just off the back of some gambling bender that happened to work out.

Ive worked out my finances and as soon as my debt is paid off I will actually be able to be that baller I always thought I was. I can be the rich uncle who splashes out on stuff, the crazy brother who pays for meals. I can do that, and it will be my money. The money I’ve worked for. Not the money I borrowed, the money I won, from money i borrowed, only to lose again the following week. A few tough months/years ahead, but to be free of that and be in charge of your own money will be so rewarding.

As always mate, I know you’ve got this.

Stay strong 💪

I really admire your honesty and self-awareness, mate. It takes a lot of courage to face those feelings and recognize the habits that kept you in that cycle. It sounds like you’re on the right track by focusing on paying off your debt and planning for a future where you can enjoy your hard-earned money without the burden of loans or gambling wins that slip away.

There’s something incredibly empowering about being in control of your own finances, knowing that what you have is truly yours. It might be a tough road, but the sense of freedom and achievement at the end will be worth it.

Stay strong, and remember, you’re already on the path to becoming that person you want to be. You’ve got this! 💪
