My name is David,I've suffered gambling problems over the last 3-4 yrs on and off through football betting,at my worst I would be betting on inplay all day long at home, work or just anywhere.I have won large sums which have kept me at it for so long but nothing compared to the disastrous losses.Originally I gambled to escape my problems then I gambled when I was depressed, but after help from parents I over came my problems in life and depression.I always thought I could control it once my life was ok,I've now got myself another long term girlfriend who means more than the world to me.Stupidly I gave gambling another chance, again I have lost loads and having to sell things I love to kept my life afloat. After all the times in the past this is the first time I can admit to myself I have a problem with gambling and I have to stop this for good because I don't want this anymore at all costs.the thought of placing another bet makes me sick

So tonight was the night I came clean to my parents for the 3rd time in as many years.my mind had been telling me you have no choice but to bet the last 50quid you have and get a win so you can keep up this charade for another month, but I couldn't face placing another bet that I knew would lose,so I faced the fear of facing up to them and although they say they no longer trust me they are willing to help me get my life back on track and build the trust back up again.im so relieved I came forward just wish I had before I I'd wasted nearly 3k.my advice to all speak up no matter how much you feel you can't or afraid you feel it'll be ok,definitely beats the feeling of losing another bet.

Thanks Paul it's definitely easier to quit on a loss but it's keeping it that way that counts,It's good to be on here with so many people who are going through same experiences,as it's the being alone n feeling isolated that can drive you back to it.im sorry to hear of your loss this week and I hope you aswel as I can make this our new beginnings and a life without betting.
