After posting on here a year ago and receiving several sessions of counselling I thought I had cracked it, but the Roulette has crept back in slowly to the point of losing £275 today after being up at one stage but not being able to walk away until it was all gone! The excitment of hitting a single number with £5 on is just too much! I need to stop now before I lose all my money and my wife finds out again!

Hi. It's a lot harder to stop for good than to stop temporarily, even if we have stopped for a relatively long period. Maybe we think we are "cured" so a bet won't bother us or maybe we don't think we had much of a problem to begin with.

Is the excitement of hitting a single number with £5 on it more important than your money, your health and your wife? Get the barriers in place before its too late.

Thank you, you are right. At some point I was going to lose my money whether that is today, tomorrow or next week

It's going to be hard as this time I'm going to try to stop without the counselling

Hi I've had a tough day today fighting the urges after 27 days not gambling, luckily I didn't cave in this time, good luck

Well this the first day of me not gambling, I'm going to try to do it on my own this time rather than with professional help.

I don't want to be the person I am anymore!

I lost £910 on roulette yesterday even after winning £468 twice on a single number! So this proves I'm losing money even when I'm winning!

I'm fed up of being sneaky, lying and dishonest. I still have money left which makes it harder to resist.

This is going to be hard.

hi kev , i know exactly what u mean i lost around £700 last month and borrowing and stealing to get through to payday , its just not right , its a form of stealing really but we press the bet button so its not stealing its f*****g gambling and ur right i hit a few winners and i do believe its random but if u cant walk you gonna hit a loosing streak aswell and heavy chassing equal heavy losses until its all gone

so yh help each other mate we have to STOP roulette now , we cant predict the future but we can shape a better life with £££ in our pockets rather than being skint and angry

Thank you spraggy2014 for taking the time to reply

You are right it's a vicious circle, if I have a good win I either lose it all there and then or come back another day and lose it

It's just borrowed money from them and I keep telling myself when I get the big win I won't go back...but I always do

I have money available to spend but it won't be long before that has gone and I'll have to come clean again to my wife! I'm running out of chances

Good luck to you

It's so difficult to quit GORAGORA, but first I think you have to want to quit. I know it's possible as I did for nearly a year

The problem was when I stopped having help and thought I'd cracked it, it then krept back in because I missed it!

It does leave a big hole to fill

Good luck to you

morning lads

just look at the money we talking about here just in a month between 3 of us its over 5000£ , im going to budapest for xmas break and the £ is so strong abroad and go so far it really is too much money , why are we willing to waste hard earned money i can see why some countries make gambing illegal , i never knew how bad it could get

your right about a big hole , i love sports and gaming so to play without betting will be hard , but being well off with loads of cash and saving and living normal be better

you can do it day at time im joe im a CG and i won,t gamble today

Hi, Kevf,

There's a lot of advice on the forum but it boils down to barriers plus support. Only you can put these into effect.

If you're serious about quitting, get help. No point in making a hard task even harder. Try GA? And follow the advice about breaking the time - money - location triangle.

Wish you well,

CW

Thank you cynical wife

Having had a course of counselling I know how beneficial it is and will do it again if I can't stop on my own

Thanks again

Even when you win you don't really win, even when you walk away with money it will always go back to that dark place that it come from! It's not real money I tell myself it's a number on a screen it will always end up back in the bookies or casino or whatever, a friend once told me that they don't have big fancy buildings and flashy lights for nothing we paid for that and I'm glad we have seen the light, who cares about gambling there are plenty more wonderful things to put our time, effort and money into. Good luck mate!
