Hi All,

Iv just joined the site, iv been gambling most of my life only the odd ВЈ5 weekend ACCA to start with but over the past year iv blown roughly ВЈ15,000 and landed myself if about a £1000 worth of debt.

Iv just self excluded from every site possible and don't want to go back to blowing my wages on the football and horses....... But its going to be hard as you will probably all know.

The problem I have is that its caused a rift between me and my wife, she found out everything and I eventually confessed. I don't feel like I have her support and shes always having a go, i know she loves me but it feels like she doesnt understand. That's why I joined this site to relate to people who have the same problem.

I enjoyed the thrill and anticipation of waiting for a winner or watching one win, what do I do now to fill that void?

How do you handle it?

Were meant to be saving for a house and I don't want to let my wife down anymore then I already have.

Its nice to meet you all anyway

Chris

Its very difficult. I must have played on every bingo site there and self excluded myself however i always find a new site or am allowed to visit previous sites. I have gambled much more than £15k and cannot stop so i have joined gamcare today. This is my day one. Ive put my bank cards somewhere i cannot get to at night (because at night is my most problem time). Can you put a block the computer. You can use the website gamblock which is brilliant or k9 (your wife will have to put password in). You are not alone. I'm going to visit gamcare every night now instead of gambling sites and am going to keep a diary. Any way sorry for rambling - good luck at least you are on this site and admitting your problem

You will get the support. Read as much of the stories as you can, i have today and it has shocked me into thinking more clearly. I have been able to hide this from my husband but if i carry on i will have to tell him and ge would be disappointed so when i read other stories of couples on the verge of divorce this has been like a kick up the backside where i realise i could be in the same boat. I have to try and you do to. I read about people going a few days, weeks, months and years without gambling and this encourages me. I am determined to be here next Sunday saying to everybody that it has been a week without gambling.

Hi. People don't often understand the mentality of a gambler but lets face it your wife has every reason to be hacked off with you.

You might feel at the moment that you can't live without gambling but that wears off after the difficult first few weeks of stopping. You will need a lot of willpower though and a desire to really want to stop. There is a lot of help available so I would advise you make the most of it.

Hi,

I joined this forum yesterday and will visit each day. I've also joined the 2015 Challenge. I've excluded myself from gambling sites and K9 is in place. I feel this forum will help me a lot during what will be a very difficult time ahead. Lots of the advice given on here is really sound.

Cheers

Thanks for your replys,

Delorean I know she has every reason to have a go and I can't blame her, I feel like she's more keen on being argumentative then supportive tho and that's why I need to learn the stories of others because obviously it's not going to be easy I don't want to let her down any more.

Iv promised to stop in the past and haven't but I know this is my last chance at becoming gambling free, it's either her or the bookmaker's and I know which one I love more.

I just hope she will believe me, ill try and use this site to help curb the desire.

I'll try the chatrooms too

Hi day@atime,

I work away Monday to Friday all over the UK, so attending a meeting would be hard for me. When I go back to work tomorrow and I'm in the hotel room bored will be when the real test starts I suppose.

I just hope coming on here will beat it.

I will do this!!!!!
