Thanks for the welcome guys. I am definitely up for a gaming free 2014. I mentioned 2015 trip to Vegas as it is something to aim for at this current time. I have promised myself a return if I stay gamble free until such time. I accept that it is not actually stopping me gambling but it helps me to focus on a good time to get rid of the bad times.

Sadly, Vegas cannot be changed as it is linked to a company I used to be involved with. that said, I agree with most posts on here and definitely want my life to improve too. Thanks for letting me be 100th Mr B. I wont let you guys down and more importantly allow me to be honest with my loved ones.

Good evening all,

Great update as always mr B! Hope you have had a great fathers day!

Just checking in, still gamble free 🙂 have had a lovely day with family enjoying a BBQ for fathers day.

Stay strong everyone!!!

29/m/England

The most important things that have helped me abstain from gambling are, handing over my finances to my partner and being part of this challenge.

Thank you again Mr B for a fab update - hope you and all other Dads had a great day.

Congratulations to all fellow centenarians and everyone else for their individual milestones.

Mr B - your questions are answered below, and I want you to know that I wouldn't reveal my age to anyone but you, so sssssh!

Female (despite being a Panto Dame)/68 in years, 15 in maturity/Englaaaaand!

Most significant factor which has helped me abstain:

Joining this site and in particular the 2014 Challenge which uplifts me more than anything from M & S could......... love you all. x

Signed: Dame Baggins of Dungamblin

Ooh, nearly forgot: Checking in at 105 days.

Hi all

Hope all of the dads out there have had a good Father's Day

Thanx Mr B For yet another great update

Glass dad 44/m but here again after recognising the warning signs from 1989 -G A helped astonishingly well then, thought I could handle a few quid here and there in the slots...but hit rock bottom again just a few mths ago so here we are again...

This site has been a Godsend

At last I'm well on my way to getting straight, it's never easy but with the support/help and posts here it's much easier to feel like you would be letting the team down, not just myself

Checking in and feeling great

Thanks

Hi everyone,

Many thanks to the early check ins and especially for those of you who are answering the questions that were asked in the update this week - I think it could be a great help for others joining the challenge and critical for the site!!

Lucky Girl - You're forgiven!! Lol!!! I'm just delighted you're still with us and doing well!!

Onlineplayer - I've left a message for you on the very first post on the thread back at page 1 - delighted you are with us and the 100th member of the team!!

richy - a message for you on the first page too!! Please go back to that if you'd like to join us!!

Ringerbell - it's brilliant to hear life sounding so good for you soldier - your post is filled with excitement and hope.........a future mate!!

Baggins - full of life, full of beans and full of cheek!! 😉 We are so blessed to have you with us........I would like to formally retract my naming of you from the update last week and replace it with the "Lady" of the challenge.......Pah!! 😉

So, Mr Brightside, age 41 and from Scotland is checking in. Without doubt the most significant thing I've done in my recovery journey is to sit down with those I love on Day 1 and tell them everything - every debt, every shameful detail, every emotion......just everything.......and then hand over bank cards, credit cards, loan information......I gave it all up. A few weeks later I posted a very innocent message on the forum asking if anyone was starting a 2014 challenge.....and without realising it had signed myself up to a part time job for fixed period of 12 months!! It's been pretty significant in an oh so positive way for me.

Have a great week everyone,

Mr Brightside

Today is Day 22, im officially 21 days without a bet.

Im really enjoying being able to watch the football in peace and some serenity.

29 Ireland

Installing K9 has helped block sites that automatically come up on the internet ads

A lightbulb went on at May 26. I needed to find a new security blanket. Im not worthless so its not ok for me to lose all my money

Checking in early this week as I've got a lot on. Day 30 today and it seems to be going well but I can't be complacent as I've lapsed so many times in the past.

I'm a 42year old male from England who has had a real problem with online gambling over the past couple of years. Sitting thinking about the most helpful thing that I've done to try to get control and it has to be joining this challenge. Nothing else has kept me on the straight and narrow for 30 days before and when I'm struggling it really helps to read through other peoples posts and know I'm no longer suffering alone. Anyway must stop going on good luck everyone and good luck England (think they need all the help they can get). Daz

This looks like this will help me and others. I'm only on day 1 but being part of a challenge team will be a great help. I've never let a team down but I often let myself down. So count me in...

Phil checking in on day 181. I'm 34, male and from Wirral. The best thing I've done to help me stop gambling has been to give my mum control over my money. This has stopped me getting paid and blowing a months wage in a day.

Hope everyone is having a good week and enjoying the sun. Keep up the good fight fellow soldiers!

Evening everyone!!

Once again, many thanks to all of those soldiers who are checking in with the answers to the questions posed in the update this week - some very strong themes coming through.

richy and T2c - there's a message with an ask for each of you on the very first post of the the thread. Down to you guys now to follow through on the commitment and you'll be formally added to the team on Sunday.

There's a couple of milestones today, so huge congratulations go to spaingone who reaches a quarter of a year free today and also Jess 2910 who celebrates 50 days without gambling - absolutely brilliant guys!! Enjoy your day and be proud of your achievements!!

Keep strong all!!

Mr Brightside

Hi, checking in on day 76 and to all the ones who don't know yet I'm Wolfgang 50 years (nearly 51 lol) years of age male and I'm from Germany but live in England Winsford.

It's hard to say what driven me most to stay clean from gambling but I think it's mostly to be honest to myself and of cause to my partner Lou.

And even me being in the past weeks not so often here I'm still there lol and I definitely stay with you.

It's just that the work isn't leaving me with much time to be here but I try my best to keep you all updated with my progress and try to read through your posts and give advise when asked to as good as I can.

I had a fabulous weekend with Lou we've been every day of the weekend at the FAB-Festival in Middlewich and it was just brilliant 🙂

Now it's working again for another 4 weeks in the Netherlands before I get home again though but looking foreword to it and have started counting down already lol.

I really wonder how you manage week by week to deliver this brilliant updates Mr.B thank you for this fabulous work.

Will through this week looking more into the recovery diary whenever I get the time for it.

To all you fellow soldiers stay strong and focused and have a good gamble free week

Love and Respect

Wolfgang
