Hi guys,

Just posting a wee rambling, so apologies in advance if it gets longwinded - Like I said in my last post, this thread and the way it helps people spur each other on in a wee community type environment is incredible and it helps so much. Helps knowing someone out there cares, ok we might only know their name, but they believe in you and what you can do. They are truly there for you, more than the bookie or casino staff ever will. They are your friends, your therapists and above all in the exact same position as you - They are affected, seriously affected by gambling.

It's honestly an unbelievable tool to help us all who are addicted to gambling. The results were there to see in Linda who got picked up by her fellow team mates and brought to safety - Without this thread, that wouldn't have happened. So well done Linda and we'll done everyone else for helping your friend.

It is going to be a tough day tomorrow, as it will be everywhere!!!. What I am doing is reminding myself that I WILL NOT WIN... There is no way I can (especially not in that lottery)... Seriously though, we wont win!! The only way I can truly win is by not placing a bet down at all.

So that will be a week this Sunday since I placed my last bet... (Of all things a stupid virtual/video horse race, I mean come on its a stupid simulated game!!... I mean i wouldn't bet on Mario Kart or that..... Actually, to be honest I probably would!!)

But its all so stupid, I know it is - Betting serious hard earned money on a wee ball going into a space on a moving wheel or a virtual game, such a waste of time, but I do because I'm addicted to the buzz it gives me - But now is the time to stop, to get addicted to something else, something good, something worthwhile.

Sorry for the rambling folks, I warned you but, haha.

All the best for tomorrow comrades, stay strong and remember you will never win.

Drew

Firstly I totally missed your post Batman, but a belated WELL DONE on 50 days! Huge achievement for you.

Secondly, Drew that's a great post. If any of us were drawn back in tomorrow and actually won that lottery of a race what would we do with the winnings? Personally I would use it to fund more gambling until it was all gone. When it was all gone I would get more money and gamble until that was gone. And then the cycle would return, lies, deceipt, letting people down etc........None of us want that so we need to be strong and avoid that first bet!

Lets all be strong, we are an amazing group and this is the place to be.

Hi Linda....

I'm so proud of you!!! 🙂

I'm also proud of how we all pulled together to help a fellow soldier having a bad day, so well done to all in aiding Linda in her recovery.

Gambling will eventually tear through us all 1 by 1, just like I can tear through a pack of cards 1 at a time, but if we all stick together we'll be impossible to tear apart, just like tearing through a full deck of cards all at once. Thats impossible... Try it if you want lol.

I myself am no big horse racing fan, so today will just be like any other day for me. To all those who struggle with horse racing, especially the grand national, then my advice to you would be to make a plan at the start of the day and to avoid going anywhere where they may be a betting shop close by. Today the betting shops will be full of Mindless Robots, who have not seeked help to get over their addiction.

Do not become one of them!

Have a nice weekend all,

Scambling

Hi all

I am checking in as I won't get on for the rest of the day. Feel a lot stronger gambling wise as I know that I will not succumb today. I am proud of myself for coming here before giving in as I got the support I needed and more than that I am proud of this challenge as you all got behind me and pulled me through when i needed it most.

Mr b, I can't ever thank you enough for the effort you put in with me this last few days and I hope you know that if you ever need a helping hand I will always be there. That goes for all of you!

So now I'm off to get my house ready to be trashed by a bunch of kids!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Linda

Be strong today everybody! I have had a good morning and am shortly off to work. There's no chance of me putting a bet on today. Without this place I would have been in a bookies today, so thanks to everyone!
