Stopping gambling, for me, left a huge hole in terms of time in each day. I knew that boredom would inevitably bring the demons back to pull me into the dark side again. With that in mind, I needed to fill that proportion of each day. Walking was the obvious one to start with but there were other hobbies I added back in. I not only noticed the better use of time but also the dopamine I got from each. It's ended up being a win win situation. I also like to indulge in some Wordle and crosswords.
