Hi Phil and troops checking in on day 378 and feel very proud to be doing so and marching along side of all of you.

Thanks for for the update Phil, I know you have a lot on at work at this time, and yet you unconditionally do this time consuming update every week, for all of us to keep marching together. You are doing an amazing thing by running this challenge and I am very proud of you.

This challenge keeps all of us whether newbies or oldies ( which is just as important as our recoveries tread different waters) TOGETHER.

I want to ask all troops to just take 2 minutes out of their week to check in ( as Tri suggests before Saturday) jeez we spend hours every day when gambling lol, it will make it easier for Phil, and all round for everyone.

Massive congrats to all reaching milestones this week, John is getting very close to being one year, awesome achievement John.

I want to say well done to Stephen 2105 for checking in, I am proud of you for not giving up on giving up and not giving up on the challenge, it needs YOU, it needs everyone whether one day or 1000 to make a great big xxxxxx dent into the addiction, and more importantly to ourselves, we can all do this, we are all doing it, Hats off to all of us.

Suzanne xx

Hi Bornagain

Can you please check me in thanks. Day 10 - No Gambling.

Apologies for the late check in but there has been some very weird stuff going on. When i set my account up last week as my chosen username, brightfuture, for some unbeknown reason, my username on my first post was changed to: majid miah

I've reported this to Gamcare Forum Admin team and they are looking into how this happened. I had to reset up my account all over again. Hopefully now, things will go smoothly. The last few days i wasn't able to get on the forum which was worrying but still gamble free, 10 days. I am hurting so badly, the pain hasn't gone away i'm still as raw as i was on Day 1. No idea how i am going to find the strength to carry on with life but i'm trying to fight hard.. i've a battle on my hands not just with gambling but with life itself. This year has been horrendous. I can only hope and pray things get better quickly. I'm hanging on by a thread.

Anyway.. thanks

Checking in on day 22 GF, the dark clouds are slowly lifting, but completely on my guard, my gambling is linked to my mood so have to keep positive , setting myself little goals and taking each day as it comes.

Brightfuture we are all in the together, this awful.disease has taken far too much from us already, let's get busy living not busy gambling. I find very strenuous exercise as a big release for me, you need to find your triggers. I am still seeing a councillor which has really helped, give gamcare a ring talk it through, just don't give in, the easy option is to gamble, let's fight and come through the dark times... We are all in it together.

Hi Dazz1982, well done getting to day 22.. twice as long as me, i'm on 11..

Yeah i used to be into the gym and exercise and helped lift my depression but once the gambling took hold the gym fell away like everything else. However, i might try and get back to it. Definitely helped my head. I've got a councillor appointment on Friday so hoping that will help me also. Just want my life back. Lost so much, not just money, lots of other things..anyway.. one day at a time for now.. cheers

Brightfuture - the first few weeks are very tough, but slowly and surely life will get better day by day being gamble free. I'm sure you've read about things you can do to help with the recovery (restricting access to money etc). These are important measures as our brains are hard wired to gamble and whatever restrictions we can put in place will help. I'm not saying it easy because it isn't, but one day at a time and you will see the difference. I wish you and all fellow soliders a gamble free week, checking in 143 days. Andy

Apologies if I missed your check in last week Scotty, posts seemed to be all over the place and it made it harder to keep on top of it. Front page is updated, keep the check ins coming troops!

Blocked myself on online sites, hopefully realised I have a problem before it gets out of hand.

No need to apologise to me or anyone on here, I can only imagine how much time and effort goes in to looking after this challenge, you should be very proud of what you are doing and helping people to achieve, speaking for myself and probably lots more people my life has improved greatly since joining this challenge, thank you

Well I have started again! I am now on day 10 of my journey. I fell off the wagon last weekend when I had a crazily weak moment and signed up to another account. It has been closed now obviously and I vow to do better than 70+ days. I thought 70 was good but I slipped and I am now back on day 10.

Sorry everyone. I need to try harder and will get on this site a little more to read more of your stories.

In doing my crazy evening of gambling, I blew £1000 of my own money....this was going to be used for a holiday but I am embarrased that I will have to start again!!

Stick with me. Day 10.
