Checking in 664 GF days. I had to take a break from here for a couple of weeks , my head wasnt really in a good place and didnt want to risk reading about relapses etc which in turn may have planted a seed..... better now.

Checking In on my 122nd Day Gamble Free!

Loving that I am able to watch Football/Horse Racing purely for the fact that I like it, not because I have a bet on it!

Don't get me wrong, I still have the urges to have a bet but my willingness not to give in is much stronger than those urges.

Keep up the good work Phil!

Challenge Update Week 23

Intro

First of all I would like to apologise for missing last weeks update, when I woke last Sunday I logged on to do the update and saw 18 missing check ins. It takes me a huge amount of time to remove people and then add them when they come back. I held back hoping for late check ins and it just dragged on and I decided to skip a week. From now on I will just do the update on a Sunday and hopefully we won’t have another week with so many missed check ins. If you are serious about being here all I ask is that you check in at least once a week and it really does make life so much easier for me. Most troops are great at this and are making fantastic progress with their recovery.

We head into June and ever close to the halfway point in the challenge with 55 active troops and 8 missing soldiers. There have been some really good posts this last week and its brilliant to see so many of you are doing so well and going strong in 2015. At a point when we had some negative posts on here it was good for them to be cancelled out by some really positive posts, I thank you for that!

Missing Soldiers

thebrindle, Tnsk, brennzky, New-Start, OneMoreDayLesMis, LEST-WE-FORGET, mjc1974 and Rst.Ex-CG have all missed check in, I hope you are all well and none of you have slipped up. This forum is still open to you all. minksy89 and Bodgerthebadger if you wish to be added to the challenge you need to make another post checking in with your count of days since you last gambled.

Support and Contact

Don’t forget that on a Wednesday night triangle is in the chatroom from 8pm till 9pm and it’s a good place for anyone on the challenge to chat to their fellow troops. I can’t be there as I’m usually in work on a Wednesday night, but I’m sure it can be a good help. You can also contact me on [email protected] for any reason at all. If you want any phone numbers as you need someone to talk to or have ideas for the challenge or articles you want me to include then just get in touch. Also if anyone fancies arranging some sort of get together for a few drinks then feel free to make your suggestions, it would be good to put a few faces to names on here. A 2015 challenge group meet would be good if we could find a central location.

Summing Up

It’s been a tough couple of weeks with a few slips and some negative posts, however some really positive messages followed and its good this challenge is working and helping so many of you. The other positive is the brilliant milestones that will be hit in the coming week by so many of you. The year is flying by and I’m so pleased to see how much progress is being made.

Please check in on time this week troops, I would love to have 55 check ins to report this time next week. Have a great week troops!

Phil

161 days gamble free - still going strong even though times are hard work wise....

Sorry for the late update - i haven't needed to spend so much time on the forum lately - however i do like the way it keeps you firmly on track knowing you don't want to let fellow soldiers down by failure - its a real commitment and a great help this challenge and forum!

Thanks again to Phil for his time and efforts.

I often struggle to find particular posts let alone track everyones movements and progress individually.

Hat off to you

Best Regards

LEST-WE-FORGET

Checking in on day 188.
Just to say I have just cleared 6 months which is unbelievable to me to have had so much self control.
It is helped enormously by this site and the wealth of knowledge and support here.
