Checking in on day 38 and still gf.

I have £3.67 in my current account which I am very pleased about! 🙂 that's the first time I've had that account in credit for so many years. Overdraft reduced from £2500 to £300 so I have emergency fund in place until I can establish some savings.

I will be making final payment on a debt this month then that's another one biting the dust 🙂 all available then towards a credit card debt and blast that weight of debt chains dragging at me and I move closer to clearing my gambling legacy debts!! 🙂

Hopefully, according to schedule, debt free in 8 months - as long as I abstain and maintain!

The urge is here though... Thoughts of 'you could be debt free in a day if you hit a mega lucky run!'

Yeah yeah yeah, cheers for that, stupid, irrational and nonsense background gambling addiction unwelcome noise!

Well.... No. Just no, not today. Very frustrating!!! It's not just the 'clearing debt' reason that I'm hearing it's the excitement of the game the 'what if?' The 'damnnn that was so close!' The whole environment of it, I actually want to be there :-S how bl oody infuriating. I'm not going there though, the bottom line is that gambling has took a great deal of sunshine out of my life, it's been a part of it for so long but now, like a negative factor that drags one down, it's the last goodbye and frankly GET LOST GO TO HELL!

Remaining patient and strong, keeping my focus on what is real and what can be counted on, trusted and good for me, gambling is not on that list nor ever will be.... It's just a niggle today I'm sure but I'm not biting. 38 days gf.

Stay on the right track all, best wishes.

Checking Inn day 104. I honestly never thought this would be achievable in the 14 years I've been gambling this is by far the longest I've managed to abstain however I'm still having urges but just concentrating on positive things and hopefully one day they'll disappear completely. I'd like to give a quick thanks to the gent that runs this it must take a lot of time and effort but your helping so many people so keep up the good work.

Thought I had self-excluded from all my old accounts but got a call from B*****d today. "We noticed you haven't used your account for a while so we've put £20 into your account,"

"Great" I said. "Is there a minimum waging requirement?" I asked

"No" they said

"Lovely. Bye then"

Went straight online and where I would have previously gambled that in a second, I withdrew the £20 and self-excluded.

£20 up and still 87 days GF. Result!

Simon

Hi all

Day 93 today and celebrating with two nights in a spa hotel. Got all the money now saved to pay off my holiday too :).

None of these things would be happening this week if it weren't for stopping gambling. I'm still a long way off paying all my debt off but I guess it's now around 4 and a half years instead of 5 years. I'm still debating with myself over whether it's worth trying to save up to pay the debt off sooner (but forfeit holidays etc in the coming years) or whether to just pay the loan I have accumulated over the set time period and still have money to do the holidays etc. The loan plays on my mind a lot and it annoys me how long I'll be paying for my past gambling.

Anyway for now I'm happy with having got this far and no doubt saved myself plunging further into debt.

Keep marching soldiers.

Checking in 83 days GF.

Well done Simon that must have taken some will power, nice result.

Well looking at 3 months next Sunday, never thought I would get this far but have to say the thoughts of gambling have receded as the time has passed . So to anyone just starting out stick with it, it does get easier and after nearly 3 months I am starting to see the financial benefits too.

Anyway well done to all this week and keep up the good work troops.

Scott

Hi checking in 190 days.been a bit down this week due to the long slog ahead payin off debts.brings on feelins of guilt because although im not gambling im still payin the price for it and still not able to enjoy life the way i should be.but i guess i have to think of the bigger picture and realise things will get easier if i stick to the plan and stay gamble free.gotta stay positive!!

Morning all, checking in at 123 days.

I've had a few serious thoughts of gambling this week which came from nowhere. However, I managed to head them off at the pass which is a relief.

Have a great weekend everybody.

Simon

I wouldn't be seeing that as a result!

I know it was an accident but by i'd have left myself open to this sort of promotion

More than anything its the fact you think your up. Dangerous thinking for addicts thinking they can beat the bookie.

Wondering what your going to do with that £20?
