91 days gamble free now (LEST-WE-FORGET)
Finally found this page - the 2015 challenge is a nightmare to find but have made it lol
Checking in on day 374.
Just to think that 12 months ago i was doing 3k in a fobt machine what a to$$er that is one hell of a road bike. Looking back its laughable because the way i value money now is totally different.
No thoughts of urges at all. The only thoughts i have now are where I'm going to ride my bike.
Have a great day soldiers.
Steve.
Checking in a bit late day 12
Morning troops, missing ten check ins, I will extend check in till 10pm tonight as the clocks have gone forward and its easier for me to do the update when I finish work tonight.
Thanks! Late check in from me but still GF and in a good place....life is on the up
Checking in, apols for it being late....again. Another clean week ticked off 🙂
Checking in gamble free 59 days.
Had a nice day and night away in Norfolk yesterday with family for my brother in law 50th birthday.
Didn't faze me seeing all the slot machines wasn't tempted and no urges. Not going to get complacent though as then I'll be putting my recovery in jeopardy.
Stay strong everyone and remember that together we can do it
Checking in Day 88, apologies for being late, intermittent access to tinternet
Checking on day 100 sorry for missing the deadline couldn't get online. Well triple figures so happy I ve made this far, would never have thought I could do it but I must admit my move abroad has made the temptation a lot easier to cope with, saying that still deserve a pat on my own back for getting to this milestone. Good luck everyone keep fighting
I also would like to check in, my weakness is online slots. Im on day 1 and very determied to get my life back. Every aspect of life has been affected by my gambling. I've been gambling for 4 to 5 years and have blown an incredible amount of money. Today I have done a lot of reading threads and reflecting on things I have done and are ashamed of to finance my habit. Can't remember the last time I actual spent my wages on anything other than gambling and every pay day i promise myself that im not going to blow my wages again. This week I was going to make a special effort and not only blew my wages but used my partners card without his knowledge to the sum of £140. (luckily he has forgiven me as long as I promise to quit).
I really want to do this and appreciate as much help as possible. Wish you all the best!!!
Sorry for the late check-in.
100 days clean today!
Checking in day 293 looking forward to a short week in work !
Challenge Update Week 13
Intro
Apologies for the late update troops, however I am glad that its allowed for some late check ins. At the end of a month it’s always good to get as many safely checked in as possible. I guess for some of us it’s the most dangerous time of the month. I’m therefore delighted to say we have 58 troops safely checked in and only 6 missing soldiers!
I got an email off Steve (delboygolf) in the week. He has just completed a full year gamble free and highlighted some of the changes to his life. Most importantly his girlfriend says he’s a much nicer person, I think this applies to all of us, we are all so much better to be around when we are not gambling. Steve has replaced gambling with cycling and keeping fit and is now 2 stone lighter and much happier in a new job. I think as addicts maybe channeling our energy into something new can be a huge help, maybe a few more of us should go bike shopping, I certainly intend to get one in the next couple of weeks! So well done Steve, keep it up mate!
The challenge is on 88 days, not long till the first 100 days is done and dusted and March is about to finish. If anyone has any feedback how it could be improved or needs the telephone list feel free to post on here or mail me on [email protected]
Missing Soldiers
baggins, wolf57, Honk, mac09, Change and kchurch failed to check in this week. Hope you are all safe and well and please get checked back on this week.
Financial Focus Feedback
This week I would like you to spend a little time giving some feedback to this issue I’m going to bring up, I don’t know if it affects everyone, but it certainly affects me. As gamblers we lost track of how to manage money, money became gambling tokens and for me I would often go 30 days of the month totally skint. Now I’m in recovery I have money in the bank, and its great I can go out, socialise, buy new things and I’m saving for a holiday.
However money stresses me out! I’m finding that it’s on my mind all the time currently, will I have enough for this, that and the other etc…. When I’m under stress and don’t think I have enough money then the urges come back, so I need to work on this and make sure it doesn’t happen. I’ve easily got enough to go by, but I guess after so many years of stress over money for gambling or lack of money for day to day life I’m just used to worrying about finances.
I don’t think I have a good relationship with money. So what I’m asking is am I alone? How have you coped since you stopped gambling?

Summing Up
March is nearly gone and we have a really strong and close group marching together. It’s been a good start to the year, if we keep this going then special things will happen. If you can stay gamble free for another 9 months life will look so much better for all of us. Please get the check ins on time this week troops, I won’t be extending check in next week. Have a great week and I’m especially excited about double huge celebrations on Saturday for Garyl1976 and Del79.

anniek1 and paul1001, welcome to the challenge, once you have made another post you will both be added to the front page and checked in. Just imagine how much your lives could improve if you made that day 1 last the remaining 9 months of the year. We have all been there and there are many still gamble free so this proves is can be beaten. I look forward to more posts from you.
Great significant update Phil
me personall don't know how I found the amount of money I was gambling but as u said it is first front most of my mind all the time I've taken a second job to repay the overdraft I used and everythings being paid but it's making me so uptight, and im forever stressing about it, writing and ticking off lists to try manage money a little better and to get myself back into the swing of it so in response nope your not alone so if anyone has any tips on dealing with this I'd love to hear too day 36 x
