Checking in. Got three months this week. A happy boy! I have the masters and grand national as two big temptations next week but I'm determined to get through them, if I do I really see myself doing the whole year. Not getting ahead of myself but I'm feeling good about the journey so far.

Thanks for accepting me to the challenge Phil,

You have no idea how positive I feel by just typing away on this forum and keeping myself on track. It's great to get all your thoughts out and previous emotions from gambling. I am nightshift tonight so I plan on a relaxing, gamble free day, before hand. The weather is looking lovely so may even go for a little walk to take my mind off things.

Hi everyone, checking in for another GF week. Wow first 3 months of challenge GF. Great to see the update Phil & read each week of milestones reached. Keep strong everyone, small steps one day at a time.

The razor story reminded me of many many years ago (over 20) when I spent hours hunting for bargains for stocking fillers for Xmas, not letting myself buy anything too expensive. Once I was finished I treated myself to £2 in slots in arcade......however that £2 turned into over £100 loss....I remember the sick feeling in the pit of my stomach that I had thrown away all that money (taken out a credit card) in a couple of hours. When you are hell bent on gambling you will use your last penny but when shopping you hunt all the bargains.

Now money doesn't have the same meaning as I rarely have actual cash as I'm virtually housebound therefore rarely at shops. As I can't see things to buy I rarely buy myself anything. I have become a non-person in society. However I have turned last year of trying to stop online slots into a positive I will complete 2025 challenge. My mind is so set on at least being able to control this aspect of my life that I'm nearly missing check ins as my mind isn't on gambling. Last year urges were so bad I was giving in....this year I'm doing really well with a positive mindset. Saying that I will never be complacent as I know I was GF 20 years before discovering online slots which had such a pull for me I was hooked as soon as I spun first reel.

Checking in on day 4 for the second time now. Had a slip on day 17 and wasted £20 on a football bet I didn't even have any interest in. Just gave in to the urges. Not a major slip but a break in my promise to myself. My target now is to beat 17days and keep going
