Im aslo 21 with a huge gambling problem. i have a good credit rating, I'm expecting that to go down the loo as I've taken out a loan to pay off my debts. I'm the same as you, even when I'm up I'm still not happy and just bet more and lose everything. my worst problem is i know people who have ruined there lives gambling but that still doesn't put me off, i still do it knowing full well i will lose and it will make me unhappy. I've self excluded myself from dozens of sites and shops but its so easy to get onto another. i work all hours of the day (70 hours a week minimum) to support this habit and got nothing to show for it. personally i think they should invent a tablet to cure gambling because im finding it harder to quit than smoking. quitting smoking is easier by far. if anyone reading this has any tips for me, please share...

Hello Pal,

I am 23 years and your story sounds familiar!

I am addicted to gambling imparticularly the roulette. They/Me have ruined by life to date. I started off with small stakes and as with most gamblers the stakes increased and so did the losses. I have won some largish amounts over the past 5 years but never properly leave and always s**nk the winnings and more. I am in debt to a tune of 35,000 so I advise you to stop. As in my story I am deep in s****t which I would want you to avoid. I am still gambling but came on here this morning and decided enough is enough. There has be more to life than gambling. The effect it has had on my life alone is staggering. I have no social life and am nicknamed the scruge by family members in view of my bad moods.

I hope that you can find the strength to quit and we can keep each over going.

Monday 4th August the day I quit gambling (so I hope).

Cheers

Sam

Your story is very similar to mine. Lost a hell of a lot of money on the roullette machines in the bookies. Today is the day I quit for good. Slowly getting myself in debt and have a holiday in 7 weeks!!!!! My main trigger is pay day, even when I win I always end up Down Because I keep going back. Have it in my head that I will not do this again, do not even enjoy gambling but love the rush of a win, feel most comfortable when I have no money in my account so I know I cannot do it

Hi Lc123456

My son is 20 and has similar problems to you. When you mentioned that pay-day is the trigger can I ask you if you think it might help more if someone stepped in to look after your wages until you felt more able to cope by yourself.
