Hi everyone, I was wondering if there was any sort of set-up group of people/organisations for to help those who are paying off debt as a result of gambling?
I'm not referring to a dmp, but someone who would loan a lump sum that pays off all accumulated debts for which is paid back at lowish interest.
I feel paying back all the debt is crucial to my recovery, but all the money going all over the place and the amount per month has created high levels of stress, and has made me feel that stopping gambling is almost futile.
.......
Why do you not want to consider a DMP? Step Change and Payplan do them without charging any fees and you pay them a monthly sum you can afford which they distribute your funds to your creditors. No harm in contacting them.
My debts equate to about a year's basic salary for me before you adjust the figures for interest etc.
I've never defaulted a payment thus far, so I feel paying my creditors off properly will rescue what is left of my credit rating
Hi boltonwanderer. Thanks for posting. We echo the forum users' suggestions to contact a non-profit debt advice agency such as Citizens Advice, National Debtline or Stepchange. It wouldn't be helpful to post details of loan companies here. The agencies I've mentioned will let you know what your options are.
