Hi SM330, welcome to the Forum - a positive move, despite your current situation.

You are not a fool, and you are not a bad person; compulsive trading/gambling makes you do bad things and make you take bad choices; that is no reflection on you as a person my friend.

However you feel, there is nothing you can do to get that money back, and no way of altering your past, so what do you do? Do you get in deeper, or spend the rest of your days wallowing in regret and self-pity? Or do you draw a line under what has happened and then do everything you can to move forward in a positive way?

I gambled for twenty years until I stopped over five years ago. I lost 350,000, two homes, two partners and everything I owned, several times over. Today, I still have debt that I am paying off that will still take a great deal of time to manage but that's ok; you get used to the compromise and then you start focusing on other things that give you true, genuine fulfillment and happiness that gambling never could. Now I do charity work, write, sing, go hiking and so much more - I am the happiest I have ever been.

It is hard to comment more without knowing what led you to this point, and about your life my friend. The more you share, the more people will be able to help you.

You may be in a very dark place, but you can always fall further my friend. There is a way back for just about anyone.
