So it is payday for me today and within 30 minutes of the money hitting my account I had a missed call followed by a text from Kirsty at ***** wanting to speak to me about an urgent 'bonus that has been applied to my account'. Co-incidence or targeted marketing? I'd like to think it was the former but in reality it is probably the latter. What hope do people have?!?!?
Lots of hope although obviously I don't know your circumstances and where you are in recovery which is your business to disclose or not. Lots of people who use this forum are bet-free and happier using their own techniques and methods. There is in my opinion no one way - it is individual. Perhaps, just my view, use the chatroom or start a diary? Best wishes, Phil.
Thanks Phil. Currently 3 weeks into my latest gamble free period and so far, so good. Temptations are everywhere though and often at the most vulnerable times which was the point I was alluding to in my original post. I've always been an online gambler so the latest step i've taken is to change my bank card and scratch off the security code. I know there are always ways around these obstacles we put in place but i'm firmly of the opinion that anything to stop me in my tracks, for even just a few seconds, will help me reconsider my next move. Like you say, everyone has their own methods and techniques or combination of.
If you're self excluded fom your accounts they're not allowed to contact you. If you're not, time to crack on with it.
ive lost track of where I've self excluded from over the years tbh Lethe. Clearly not 32Red anyway. Now self excluded.
SE only goes so far. Time now to consider a blocker on every device you use so you can't access gambling sites at all.
