Hi I recently gambled a lot of money. All my inheritance infact. Obviously I lost it all otherwise I wouldn't be here I would still be gambling, until I eventually lost it all. I haven't gambled for just under two weeks now and the urge to gamble has gone. I don't know if that is because I am flat broke or because I know if I gamble again my partner will leave. I'm 23 and I have been toldi am young and forget about it and move on. It's so hard to forget about when you have lost so much money. My partner is distraught with me and things haven't been the same since, and the thought of her leaving me will kill me I believe and push me back into a dark place. I haven't told her this as I can't force her to stay.

I believe in this current state of mind I don't need to go to a GA meeting, I haven't had the urge to gamble and I don't want people to know I had a problem.

Some feedback would be great and would help a lot. Thankyou and lets beat this s**t together.

Hi wazza - Sorry to read of your distress, but you have made a good decision to stop gambling and to have joined this site. It is true that you have time on your side in which to turn your life around before even more damage is done both to yourself and those you love. Your inheritance has gone - let that be the last time you throw your money away. If you read other stories here you will see that many people wished they had given up gambling at your age. So be of good heart, rejoice that you have seen the light so early in your life, and keeping going a day at a time to put this terrible habit behind you. Best wishes for your journey.
