Im 27 at one point i didnt even know these machines excisted. I was introduced by a work collegue and i was instantly hooked. Fast forward 3 years and ive lost far too much money. Yesterday i had a day off i thought i just spend £20 and limit myself to it. I took £550 in walked out with nothing. Theses machines have ruined my life.

My mum said if i gambled again shed throw me out so i spent hours walking around the local town trying to find somewere to go if your homeless. The council wouldnt help me as im not in priority need. My mums been good to me and i cant keep doing this too her.

Fast forward to today ive been to the doctors and hes referred me for counciling and given me some tablets 🙂

I attempted to take my own life im not proud of it but its something that happened. My mum has taken me back for now on the condition that my rent is £500 a month and i sent up a direct debit so it goes straight into her account.

First things first I hope you're ok. Problem gambling is so hard to deal with, and I myself have only just started to accept that I have a problem. How often would you say you bet and when was the last time you did it?

Hi Megadowntroden

Welcome to the forum.

I have moved your post to the New members section of the forum as you may receive more responses there.

You will find a very supportive community of people here on the forum so please do keep reading the posts and posting yourself.

Have you thought about attending a Gamblers Anonymous meeting some people find these very helpful you can look on their website to see if there is a meeting near you http://www.gamblersanonymous.org.uk

Also do feel welcome to talk things through with a GamCare adviser on 0808 8020 133 or on our netline. The advisers can provide emotional support and helpful information, as well as facilitate referrals to one to one counselling appointments if you’d like to access that service too.

Best wishes

Alex.
