Hi, I would just like to share some of my thoughts on gambling on how it affects one as I have been a gambling addict my self since the age of 16-17 and now that I am 31 years of age. What a destructive addiction gambling actually is! I always come to the forum to read other people’s stories on how gambling has affected thier entire life since they have been affected. What can I say? Gambling is the worst number one addiction then any other addiction thier is worse then any drugs or drinks. I mean how much can one drink or take drugs until they put them selfs to sleep or become unconscious. With gambling there is no stopping until you have lost every dime you have in ur name weather that is £100 or £100000. Not only does it take your money but your mental health takes a big tall. It makes you go in to serious depression mode. Worse it even gives you suicidal thoughts. This addiction is the worst then anything that I have ever come across. One more thing to mention is that another worse thing that can happen to one individual is too actually win. When you win is even more worse you will never walk away with the winnings we are all in the same boat anyone I know that win is the exact same as me and you. Eventually you give your winnings back to the house and even more. So brothers and sisters it’s such a dirty cycle to involved in this madness of gambling. We never ever walk away. Only thing I ever got from gambling is mental health problems and destruction in my life. I wish everyone on here a gamble free life. Please share your thoughts on here I would love to talk to some of you and I hope we all beat this addiction and live a happy healthier life without gambling and actually enjoy our money on your self. Over the years of this insane gambling madness I have easy lost over £150k that’s six figures. Money that I should have spent on my selft and family and made real life memories but all I ever did was make someone else life richer the bookies the Casinos online gambling site you name it. I am from the UK and you can call me A. Thanks for reading this I hope you can share some of your own thoughts on here I would love to read them thank you. Love peace

Thanks for your reply @ali12. Exactly as you said it destroys your brain rewards system (dopamine). One winner and that’s the them. The (house). I have come across many who gamble and they never ever have walked away with their winnings. It shall some way find its way back to the house. I accept the money that’s gone. But the time lost which I will never get back. And the mental health issues that it has given me it really does break you down and bring your self down. I have relapsed 1000 times. Each time we tell our self it will be different but in the end it never has been different we just dig the hole even deeper. UK advertising for gambling is insane. This country sucks. The gambling advertising its every where you go. Sports aren’t how they used to be.  Now it’s all gambling related. Bookeis in the poorest areas in the country. 24 hour access to gambling no checks! They thought when they introduced the 2 pound spin would help make a difference. The government of this country are all involved they don’t care if you lose your money. More profits in their pockets. No such thing as gamble responsibly. How can one can responsibly. It doesn’t exist. f@@@@k the system. For us addicts it’s a battle every day. So take each day as he comes. And put blocks on everything and anything that triggers ur mind to want to gamble. Peace and love A.
